Fall Silent are an extreme sounding band,
but what they are exactly playing is difficult to describe. It's surely a mixture of Hardcore, Metal
and Punk, but the amount of the ingredients is changing from song to song. But on each song, they
present themselves as an angry band, musically and lyrically. One of the first inspiration of each
musician were the Seven Seconds, so it's no surprise that they covered 'Clenched Fists, Black Eyes'
by their idols. The CD is containing two more cover versions, the Sesame Street theme and a terrible
AOR song (Heartbreaker). On their second full-length-release, Fall Silent have developped further than
their original influences. Complex Metal structures often let you think of bands like Crowbar or
Meshuggah. The vocals contain nasty screams, spoken word passages and even some clean singing. This
makes you think a lot of Dillinger Escape Plan or other bands who are playing Psycore. After one
hour, you have survived 'Six Years In The Desert' and listened to one of the best extreme bands. Normally
such a great album would deserve 10 out of 10 points, but as they put God and Jesus Christ on their
thanks list, I have to reduce the final note to 9 points. Do they really think that such music will
be listened to in Heaven?
