Yesterday (23/08/00) was the radio one roadshow in newquay - and guess who was there - yep Steo : ) and so me too hehe ; ). It took over 3 hours to drive there (but I was allowed to go cos then my brother could also go surfing at the same time as I was seeing Stephen).
So I got there about midday and we eventually managed to park the car. So I found where the stage was and straight away wanted to go and find a place to sit so I'd be near the front for when Stephen came on stage, but first we went for lunch in the Headland Hotel - well actually I just sat there for a bit then escaped onto the lawn to go and wait for the roadshow to start. So there were quite a few people sat there already but everyone was quite spaced out so I just walked stright to the barrier right by the stage and sat in line with the middle of the stage and got nicely sunburnt waiting for Steo lol.
Anyway so after a few hours the roadshow got properly started (at 4pm) cos there was a warm up thing before hand. I got practically jumped on by various members of Reef as they leaped over the barrier into the crowd both times they were on stage and also got dead legs from being made to sit down through most of the show - but at last it was the time I had been waiting for YAY Stephen was on stage - at last! He was the main act there so was on stage last about 5:30pm.
Anyway so he was looking very lovely in his black trews white long sleeved top and black body warmer - and of course he was wearing one of hid many hats hehe - he had a beige baseball cap on. So said hi to everyone and went straight into I Believe : ) and he saw me in the crowd cos i was right in front of him practically and I got a few waves and smiles ; ). Also we managed to end up standing there pointing straight at eachother and looking one another in the eye for quite a while which was kinda funny (ok so u had to be there to find it funny - but anyway).
So then he talked to Chris Moyles - got the release date of his songle wrong as he said 22nd and not 25th (doh!). And then he sang New Beginning with some more funky dance moves thrown in there too ; ). Talked to Chris again and had his pic taken with him by Chris Moyle's' mum haha - who obviously really liked Steo as she said she had been talking to him for the last 20 mins or more aaww. So then Steo left and so did I as the roadshow was over but I managed to miss meeting him both before and after the concert - doh!!! But never mind He was great and I cant wait to see him again very soon!
