Daniel has his eyebrow pierced twice. 
Daniel's dad is a football player.
Chris and Ben's dads were in bands.They
won an Aria award for Frogstomp at the ages of 16 and 17.
At the age of 12 they formed the band and were called the Innocent
Criminals.
When they first started out they had a fourth member, Tobin Finnane, who
moved overseas before the band became a hit.McDonalds
asked the boys to cover an old Beatles song for a commercial but the boys
refused the offer.Chris
burnt his leg while performing on the top of the 
Radio
City Marquee.
A lady accused Daniel of stalking and threatening her while the band was
out of the country on a tour.
If you play the part of the Abuse Me video in slow motion where Daniel
sings "No-one seems to like you" you will see Ben giving the finger.
Silverchair thought of calling themselves Grunttruck but were disappointed
when they found out a band in Seattle already had the name.Daniel's
younger brother , Heath, is 6 foot 2.Daniel
used to write rap songs.
Daniel and Chris played the trumpet in the school orchestra.They
are going to start recording another album late in 1998.
All of the boys are now 18 years old.Freak
won the best Australian Music Video in 1997 on the MTV music awards.In
primary school Daniel and ben made Chris eat an orange crayon and told
him it was cheese.
In 1994 an American boy murdered his parents and claimed that the Silverchair
song Israels Son had inspired him to do it.The
demo comp that got the band started was called" Pick Me."The
boys got the band name from to of there inspirations... You am I 'Burning
Chair' and Nirvana's 'Sliver.'Chris'
car is a used blue Ford Fairmont and the number plate is TQK-592.In
the end of the Frogstomp era the frog got the boys angry and Chris said
"Frogs are highly over-rated"Silverchairs
Manager Johns Watson saw the boys for the first time playing in a tavern
just outside of Newcastle called 'Jules Tavern'. Ther was literally 5 people
in the place and most of them were watching the footy on the TV more than
they were watching the band. At this time Daniel was 15 and Chris and Ben
were 14 and they already had Tomorrow, Shade, Pure Massacre etc. + some
old classic rock tracks.The
boys all did the same subjects in year 12 these were....The
Freak film clip was directed by Jerry Casavi of the band Devo.Daniels
mums maiden name was Jane Maten......... if anyone knows the correct spelling
