Born on the 7th of January 1979; he's the dude behind drums in Cusp. When I met Anit for the first time at a pub in Bombay, he told me he was into Death metal (!!) and he was looking for guys to play with. Luckily I didn't take the death metal warning and the gory shirt he had on too seriously and later found out that he did listen to other forms of music too. We basically were into the same bands and wanted to start one of our own that wouldn’t suck like most bands we got to see here who were all doing the same thing and not willing to even try being themselves. This led to us jamming and eventually forming what is Cusp right now (thank god he lost the death metal element somewhere along the line!).He's the quietest member of the band, and he'd rather just play music than talk too much about what Cusp is all about (what on earth are we really about anyway?).

Besides playing drums, Anit is into incredibly spicy food, Cartoon Network (we all are fans of Dexters Lab!), bands like Pearl Jam, Korn, Deftones,DMB..to name a few. I'd say his drumming style (which is mighty cool!) sounds influenced mostly by Chad Gracey of Live, and Anit doesn’t disagree with me on that point. He plans to get into a career in Sound Recording (unless Cusp turns into the next U2 or something!). Musically, his head is pretty much in the same place as mine, which helps maintain some sort of consistency in the rhythm section and forms a decent base to any song. Anit is pretty notorious by now for passing out after binges with the band or wandering alone into kitchens (I wonder why?) and not having any memory of it happening..just one of the great things that makes him the guy he is!

After a Cusp gig Anit is most likely to be found either extremely quiet and just thinking about the show and why most songs seemed to be going at twice the normal speed (haha..I had to include this!) , looking for some spicy food or watching Saumi and me dancing or kicking each others asses.

Anit’s most (un)likely thing to do:

"I'm gonna give a speech at the next show!"
