Cusp was formed in November 1996 in Bombay India with the intention of making original music derived from our varied influences. Right from our punkish beginnings, the emphasis has always been on songwriting and playing what comes most naturally to us, with a touch of humour added to our approach. Our current musical direction could be simple described as an amalgamation of all the music we've grown up listening to and also the plethora of new material we keep hearing and getting inspired by, irrespective of the genre.

We have had a simple philosophy of being ourselves and not compromising on the music we want to create or play at our live shows. We aim at satisfying ourselves (and laughing at ourselves too) because WE are our biggest critics. Our approach to songwriting is pretty basic, if its not something which we would love to listen to, then its not worth working on.

Since our inception we have tried to push ourselves in terms of getting recognition without selling out musically. We have stuck to our roots and our beliefs despite of the fact that we are well aware that the band is an unmarketable commodity in our own country. Cusp as a band hope to continue in the direction we've been heading , which has been towards a greater appreciation by everyone of the music we love to make and play live. We have always aimed at being ourselves, doing what we love and I don't see why anything should change that.

We've had radio airplay in the city of Bombay, been featured in shows on MTV and Channel [V] out here in India. Done interviews for magazines and played shows all over the country. So dudes..now you know who were are, what we do and where to find us. So what?s next for Cusp? Its up to you all to decide what your gonna do about it, based on what you think of us of course! (Woaah..profound!)
