Latest Happenings in the World of Cusp!

We are already into the 21st century and would you believe it. Cusp is still going strong! We completed 3 whole years as a band on the 11th of November 1999. Each one of us seems to be branching out into diverse professions, but thankfully the band is still around and doing better than ever before.

RECENT SHOWS

Cusp played in Delhi on the 30th of January at the curtain raiser for GIR 2000. Other recent shows included Goa on the 12th of February and Ahemadabad on the 25th of February.

CUSP ON THE RADIO

We had an hour long live interview on AIR 107.1 FM radio on the 20th of February from 9-10pm and had 5 Cusp songs aired during the show.

"PARASITE" SELECTED FOR GIR 2000

Cusp has made it to the Great Indian Rock compilation album once again along with 11 other bands this time around. We unfortunately could not play at the GIR festival this year but we're more than glad to be on the album once again.

NEW SONGS (January, 2000)

We recently finished working on three new songs which we began recording in December 1999. The results of this effort can be heard in the songs "Parasite", "Feet on the ceiling" and "Cracker Of An Issue". These songs capture an energy and sound which is definitely a lot different from anything we've done before and showcases our newfound maturity as songwriters and musicians. You can download the new songs in mp3 format from our Audio section, and make sure you send in your comments after listening to them.

CUSP ON CHANNEL [V]

Things seem to be looking up in a major way for the band in the year 2000. CHANNEL [V] came over to chat with us and filmed us playing and talking about Cusp for the show called "TEA WITH [V]". We spoke at length about what we love and believe in and requested songs of our choice to be played during the show. The show was aired on the 21st of January 2000 from 4pm onwards on Channel [V].

CUSP WINS THE MUSE AND MAYHEM CONTEST

Cusp qualified for the Benson & Hedges sponsored ‘MUSE AND MAYHEM’ Contest, which was created to encourage the best rock talent in the city. As a result of which we played one and a half long set at THREE FLIGHTS UP, in Bombay on the 15th of December,’99. The show was a great boost for the band, especially considering the bad luck we've had in getting good gigs in Bombay (Check the pics section for live pics from this show). The four bands from around Bombay that made it to the finals played at Three Flights up in the months of December and January. The bands were judged by the audience at each of the shows and guess who got the biggest crowd, the best response and ended up finishing first?? CUSP!!! Our reward for winning this competition is three days in one of Bombay’s best recording studios (Purple Haze) for free.
