Born on the 5th of July 1976 (The old fart of the band!), Saumi is responsible for the guitar and vocal duties in the band. Anit and Me ran into Saumitra at a gig where we found out that he had just quit his band. We were on the lookout for a guitarist and a vocalist and he claimed he could do both, and he had the experience of playing one gig in his life (and we didn't!) so we tried him...and the rest is history! More than two years after that fateful day, Saumi is a changed man (hah!). Well, he tends to get overexcited before a gig if I tell him there are some girls watching him and checkin’ his moves, but you gotta give him credit for not breaking a string onstage (not since he did that at our first gig at least!)

Saumi is into doing his pogo-stick style jumping on and offstage and on dance-floors, and for annoying the hell outta us by doing some vocal exercises before each gig which consist of the most obnoxious sounds. He loves tea with so much sugar that it doesn't taste like tea at all and he's holds the distinguished reputation of being able to get drunk by just sniffing beer. He is really into melodies and that’s definitely influenced our music and helped shape our sound. As a guitarist, his main source of inspiration are Tom Morello & The Edge, while Zack de la Rocha & Bono are his favourite vocalists.. to be short n' sweet, he is influenced by Rage Against the Machine & U2. Saumi is currently working as a graphic faculty at a computer institute (blah!! god save those unfortunate students).

After a Cusp Gig Saumi is most likely to be found jumping around the place waiting for people to share their thoughts about the show and in particular..him! (haha) He and me normally end up laughing at each others mistakes or heading for our throats, but all done in the most civil and cuspadelic way..

Saumi’s most (un)likely thing to do:

"I'm gonna get my own guitar sometime soon!"
