[ January 18 ] Finally,
the dawn of the 2nd single awaits us all... 'Dare You To Be Happy' has
already been spotted around various shops in Melbourne. Tina herself has been wizzing in and out of the country, but she was home to help out the Salvation Army for the NSW Bushfire Appeal, where Sydney fans scored a mini concert from the diva at the Adidas International Tennis Tournament. Fantastic
news for French fans as news of Tina's next appearance at the grand Olympia
venue are released. The concert will run through early October 2002 and
tickets can be purchased here. Press
in the UK and AUS have fizzed up information regarding the court case
soon to be fought out between Tina and her ex-husband and manager, Ralph
Carr. |

Good
and bad news this update, with Just Me dropping
out completely from the Australian ARIA charts and with the tracklisting
of the next single off the album including a brand new unheard b-side.
Tina
will be appearing on the "Celebrity VJ Hour" program on Music
Country channel (Foxtel), where she will be presenting her favorite music
videos. This show will be repeated several times on the Music Country
channel, begining with January 5th at 9.00pm, then 18th January 9.00pm,
26th January 4.00pm and 27th January 9.00am. On
behalf of the whole crew here at TA.Net we wish all of the great fans
who visit us (and of course Tina herself) a
very
merry Christmas and a safe
and happy new year! Special thanks at this end of year rollcall: Mark Dare, Glen Hosking, Sandra Ignacio, Naomi, Warren Smith, Michael Abrahams, Sony AUS, Sony FR, and of-course Mademoiselle Tina Arena. _________________________________________ |

December 7 Sony
has once again provided fans with a sneak preview into the new album,
this time with a gallery with photos from the production of the new filmclip
'Dare You To Be Happy'. This video, filmed
in the Sydney suburbs, included Tina's French beau Jeremy Mathot, and
telling by the pictures, looks like a real winner. Reported in the Daily
Telegraph were the details of the filmclip production, including the loss
of an expensive diamond bracelet that was misplaced on the set and has
yet to be found. In chart news, Just Me drops in the ARIA charts to #36. The release of the album in France without promotion resulted of a low debut at #47, and is currently at the #67 position. Hopefully, with Tina being more in the spotlight around the country, the French Just Me will soon pick up. To
French fans we are able to share with you this exciting email TA.Net received: _________________________________________

Vogue Australia competition for all Aussies...enter to win a copy of Just Me. |
November 27 In
it's second week in the charts, Just Me drops
to the #21 position on the Australian ARIA charts whilst Soulmate
#9 completely leaves the charts after it's weak position last week
at #48. The reports of Tina's RUMBA performance do not differ much from the Melbourne show: Tina sang a medley of songs similar to the Melbourne listing and did not gain strong interaction from the crowds, but she sure looked gorgeous. The
official site reported
a live performance by Tina at the Sydney nightclub ARQ
last Sunday night...the response there was AMAZING, whith the crowd screaming
out for more everytime Tina stopped. Tina appeared as a guest on the Elle McFeast Special "Sex Cells", yesterday and was briefly interviewed by Elle on her opinion on whether you need any talent to become a British pop star (to which Tina laughed 'no, not at all!') and also charmed passers by with some butt-burning exercises (LOL) and her delightful smile. HNFM reports: Whilst Vanessa Amorosi was singing up a storm in the stadium, we talked to Tina Arena about what she thought of Rumba? "We've (Australian's) always been great at what we do and something like Rumba brings the whole thing home. The best thing about Rumba is it's about Australian music and we happen to have some wonderful international guests join us which is very nice of them." Tina says. _________________________________________ |

Today,
Just Me debuts at #7 on the Australian ARIA
charts. To
the left is a lovely pic from the Melbourne Rumba Festival, in which it
was unfortunately told that Tina did not received an outstandingly warm
reception.

_________________________________________ November 18 Tina's new album Just Me has sure been causing a few ripples in Australia. The album, officially released on the 12th, has already been graced with a few impressive reviews whilst Tina herself has been much in the public eye. After
making an appearance at the Melbourne Cup races with boyfriend Jeremy
Mathot, Tina then embarked on the signing itinerary. At the Highpoint
signing, fans were treated to the two songs Tina performed flawlessly,
'Soulmate #9' and 'Dare
You To be Happy'. On
the television-sets, fans were able to catch the diva on Foxtel's 'By
Demand' where 'Soulmate #9', 'Dare
You To Be Happy' and 'Symphony Of Life'
were performed, followed by (a super quick) chat on the Channel
V site. |

The
Saturday Herald
Sun presented Tina on the front page of their 'Good Weekend' magazine
with an in depth article about the correlation of the new album and her
divorce with ex-manager Ralph Carr. The SonyTinaArena site has once again been re-designed and now includes some great new pics and clips to all the songs on the album. |

November 7 The
extra tracks that will be released to French speaking countries include:
The French release of the album is currently scheduled for November 20,
with Soulmate #9 already released as the first single. Soulmate #9 has now unfortunately fallen to number #46 on the ARIA charts, but hopefully the release of the second single (which is confirmed to be 'Dare You To Be Happy'), will revive some of the 'Just Me' hype, assuming of course that Sony don't leave a massive time gap between the two singles. Oz television viewers have also noticed advertisements for the upcoming album, and Tina is also featured in this month's Australian magazines 'DNA' and 'Harper's Bazaar'. |

As part of the promotion undertaken for 'Just Me', Tina will be holding a few signings (and shall possibly perform) in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Check below for details.

Other countries around the globe will be releasing the album early 2002. Tina

October 19 At
long last we have the official tracklisting for the new album, check out
the 10 completely new songs from Tina on the right! There seems to be some confusion as to whether Tina has been getting sufficient rotation on the Australian airwaves- while a several media reports have stated that artists such as Tina and Natalie Imbruglia are finding it difficult to gain airplay support for new material, it has also been confirmed by the ARIA Top 100 Airplay charts that Soulmate#9 is currently (and ironically) positioned at #9..... Tina also appeared (today!) at the Borders bookstore in Rundle Mall, Adelaide from noon till one. Though this was only advertised this very day, congrats to the fans who managed to make their way down to Borders to meet Tina. TA.Net
has also gotten a sudden rush of fans reporting that the FANCLUB
has sent out issue #2 of the Tina Newsletters...the fanclub is now offering
a cool merchandise package for the member that manages to get the most
new members signed up by October 31st. |

[ October 16 ] Bad news in Oz charts as Soulmate#9 drops to the #28 position position despite positive airplay around Australia. Tina
has appeared in numerous newspaper and magazine articles over the past
few days, including the 'Sunday Herald Sun', where it was revealed that
Tina showcased five songs from the new album at the Melbourne 'Boutique'.
The review revealed that the new album seemed to be directed at the personal
growth Tina has undergone since her divorce with her ex-manager, Ralph
Carr. The album showcase featured four already named songs, plus a track titled 'Tangled'. Tina also performed a mix of Sorrento Moon, and was said to have thoroughly impressed the 200 or so full audience, consisting mainly from the media and the music industry. |

appearance on Rove Live,
although impressive and humorous, unfortunately was of very short length.
Rove briefly interviewed Tina on stage, and provoked some laughs from
the audience as he teased Tina about her new French boyfriend. Tina confirmed
she is planning to spend Christmas with the family, celebrating her father's
70th birthday! Tina also appeared on The Panel as a guest for the show, and it was great to see her staying on for the whole program. As well as appearing in the November issue of Rolling Stones magazine, Tina's also featured in the current Sanity SAIN magazine. The article mentions Nile Rogers's opinion of Tina... "I'd
put her with Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion, as far as
technical ability. I'm not joking, She's at the top of the game. She really
has a great gift."

It's Tonight somewhat reflects more the music that Tina has immersed herself with over her European travels. The song, penned by Tina, Amy Powers and Craig Bartock, is a track that possess a certain chill-out factor... definetly one to mellow out to and quite diverse from Soulmate. The SonyTinaArena site is still featuring a clip to It's Tonight, and the rest of the tracks on the Soulmate single (including the video)....get it while you can! _________________________________________

October 4 The 15th Annual Aria Awards were presented in Sydney last night and what a show it was...with performances by Natalie Imbruglia, Dido, John Butler Trio, Powderfinger and our very own Tina Arena. Tina sang a live version of Soulmate #9, and teamed up with her powerful voice, a group of sexy dancers and a few very funky dance grooves of her own, Tina really did fire up a great night. In today's Australian Herald Sun, Tina was featured in an article, and in order to keep up with the press, we have produced a compilation page of all the news that was whispered around Oz after the big Aria night. Unfortunately,
the second Tina chat was did not go as planned, with a mistake being placed
on the NineMSN site regarding that celebrity chat. However, we have managed
to get our hot little hands on an article for you to read about the second
annual Sandcastle
in Miami Beach hosted by Desmond Child, Deston Songs and the Extreme Writer's
Group (Gaylord Entertainment). |

October 2 Red Hot: Tina will be appearing again on Rove Live next week at 9.30, Tuesday, Channel 10 AND there is another NineMSN chat planned for Oct 3, 5pm AEST!!! Well we're almost over our anticipated wave of Tina-appearances, with only the Arias and possibly Rumba to go. Today alot of fans had the pleasure of joining Tina in the special NineMSN chat, in which they were able to submit questions to the diva. Although not all questions got answered as the interview only went for about 30 minutes, the fans were ecstatic and all up there were about 4 chat rooms filled for the occasion. On the Ray-Martin Show, Tina was on for a disappointing 8 minutes, as opposed to Russel Crow, who received over an hour on the show. However, she looked fantastic and it was excellent to see her on Aussie T.V again. Below we have some captures from the show (including a capture of Tina from her YTT days, which Ray had pleasure in embarrassing Tina with). Soulmate #9 is officially released and in one store in Melbourne has already sold out of all copies! Go Tina!! |

#9
is officially being given it's round of plays around the most popular
stations in Melbourne currently and it's great to see the Australian media

Me' have been getting fantastic reviews.

_________________________________________ September 22 Fantastic
news in Oz radio-and-TV land: on the TODAY show, Richard Wilkin talked

tracklisting for the new single 'Soulmate #9'
In Australia, 'Soulmate #9' has slowly been getting more airplay, specifically
on the two most popular radio stations, MIX FM and Fox FM. After the long
drought of Tina-releases, fans were blessed with not only the new new
single, but also the remix of Soulmate #9, which has also been
getting airplay. It seems that both the original and the remix were released
to radio stations and thus they are alternating between the two. The Soulmate #9 video, and Tina's new beautiful look:
