Kingpin
Aargh!!!! Die you motherfuckers die! Die! That noise you could have heard when I was killing some scum in the game Kingpin. My below neighbours were banging on the sealing because there was too much noise. How can that be!?? The only sound you could hear was me shouting and my 300-watt SoundBlaster that was full open. In the game Kingpin you are a gangster who wants to be the kingpin (crime king). You will have to shoot, walk and talk your way up to become the kingpin. In kingpin you have some nice weapons. Such as a lead pipe (ok bad example for nice weapon), pistols, shotguns, tommyguns, rocket-launchers (that's more like it) and flame-throwers. A very original aspect is that you can steal money of the scum you wasted. With this money you can buy guns, armour and health. You can also take the guns and medipacks from the death scum. Another good thing about the game is that you can hire bodyguards from your money. Bodyguards will help you to kill that nasty mother fucking scum who are in your way to become the kingpin. The only negative aspect of the bodyguards is that they can be pretty annoying because they are always in the way. They are always standing at a place where you have to do something. And now you can't reach it because they are standing in the spot were you wanted to stand. It is also pretty annoying that the game has to load often. Always when you come into a room with nothing in it but two doors you will have to load. Why do the producers build these rooms? They can load when you go into the room after the "loading room." The sound of kingpin is very good. Why? I shall explain. An example is this. When you approximate something that makes noise (such as a disco or a club) the noise will become louder and louder the closer you come to this object. This makes the sound very realistic. Another good aspect of sound in the game is when you hit something that makes noise, the bad guys will hear you and shall try to kill you. So be quiet! The Graphics of kingpin are good. (There are games with better graphics such as half-life.) Kingpin is 3d accelerated and looks very good with a voodoo card. The figures you will meet in the game look very detailed and very realistic. They also move, talk, shoot and die realistic. The environment is very beautiful and detailed. The only negative aspects of the environment are that it's too dark, and if you hit a box of cardboard or something with a lead pipe it won't even move or break. With the game kingpin you're able to play a network game or a multiplayer game trough the Internet. For multiplayer games you can select your own skin by choosing some parts witch together become your character. The parts are face, breast, hat and legs. I think Kingpin is a very good 3d shooter because it has a good and very beautiful environment, the sound is also very good and realistic. And the graphics are beautiful to. But I don't think Kingpin won't become a great success because it hasn't got the atmosphere half-life or alien versus predator has because with alien versus predator you will become afraid to walk in that ally, and with kingpin you can walk into any ally without being scared. So my final conclusion is that Kingpin is a very great game for people who like to be a gangster, but for people who like 3d shooters I recommend Half-life or even better Alien versus Predator.
