MILLENNIUM IS THE BUZZ WORD
Nobody really knows what will happen at the end of this year.       
There is such a complex interrelationship between Academics, Business, Computers, Programs and many other  things. The only thing we can say for sure, will not be affected, is the sundial. All because memory was expensive when computers were first designed.. This is not the first time the Bean counters, trying to save costs, have eventually put us to much greater expense.
Even recently released programs are not always compliant!. Fortunately there are an increasing number of small 'patches' i.e.small programs, becoming available that can adjust the original program . Each computer has a built in chip which is, in effect, a clock.
This controls up to two other chips. These control all other computing operations which are very time dependent. With the most recent
computers there will be no problem. You may only have to re-set your clock and the date.
