BY DEFINITION
this report
means SeniorNet has completed another
year of operation and growth.
Successfully I might add.
BEING A voluntary organization,our
achievements are due entirely to the
efforts of all those members who so
willingly give their time and energies to
the administration of SeniorNet.
THINGS SUCH as ensuring the
students, tutors and class times match,
not clash the bills get paid, meetings
are faithfully recorded, notes and discs
are available as required, equipment
functions all the time, putting this
newsletter together and contributing at
the monthly meetings.
EQUALLY VALUABLE is the part
played by those members who take on the
teaching tasks. They are the front window
of our organizations. On them falls the
responsibility of ensuring the learning
experience is an enjoyable one. Some
members operate in both these areas.
ON BEHALF of all who have
benefited from SeniorNet's activities, I
would like to record a deep debt of
gratitude for the contribution made by
Tutors and Committee to meeting the
groups every need. Our success is due
entirely to their dedication.
THE PAST year, the first
full 12 months of operation, has been one
of following our instincts, seeking
advice, fine tuning where necessary and
building up a public profile. All ongoing
tasks.
WE WERE fortunate in obtaining a
Freepost grant, to mail our our
newsletters, from N.Z. Post and a further
donation from the Invercargill Licensing
Trust for the full cost of our sixth
computer.
THE COMING year promises to be
even more challenging. Decisions have to
be made, and no doubt will be, concerning
future growth , additional and
replacement equipment, increased services
and, of course, maintaining membership.
FOR THAT to happen we need more
volunteers willing to help bring it
about. So please consider putting
yourself or a nominee, forward to serve
on our committee or as a tutor. Moving on
from experiencing SeniorNet as a
learning center, to be coming involved in
the administration can be
(Continued
over)
