CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Our Second 'Get Together' was well attended
by members and their partners. It was
good to meet up with ex-classmates again,
put the world to rights and catch-up and
share computer doings/catastrophes. The
next one will be on the day of the A.G.M.
Term Two
is well underway with some classes
increased to six to take full advantage
of the new 'I.L.T.' computer.
Other classes have yet to come
up to full strength, however total
response is pleasing and costs, the great
concern, will be covered comfortably.
We Welcome
Idelette Langveld to our team
of tutors. Thank You
Idelette, your participation will be
appreciated by those you help, and in
the enjoyment, I trust you will
receive from doing so.
The
Forthcoming A.G.M. is the next major
'event' on our calendar.
As such it is the
opportunity to gauge the level of support
for SeniorNet South as a community
organisation as separate from its
obvious identity as a learning center.
Our success to date is a reflection
of the commitment of our
volunteers. Why not join the team and give
a hand to run things.? There is
no shortage of work to be done.
We
Have invited Grant
Sidaway from Telecom. to be the
guest
speaker at the A.G.M. I trust as many
members as possible will take this
opportunity to hear Grant speak
about possible future developments and
perhaps ask him a few questions
We
Trust Bruce is enjoying
his visit to Wales and wish him a safe
return. You are sorely missed Bruce!
The
April executive meeting was a full
and, and productive, one.
A
Vote of thanks was moved to Barry for
sorting out a crash to the system prior
to Easter. It is through his efforts we
were able to open classes on time
Archie
has produced a new SeniorNet
promotional leaflet. A draft copy is on
the notice board suggestions and
comments, to Archie, would be gratefully
received.
We
Have been offered a lease on a larger
office in the learning center, the next
one along the corridor, a corner room.
Your opinions are welcomed
Just one more decision for the new
committee.
For the last time as Chairman,
Cheerio,
Happy
clicking
Alan.
