New Friends' task is to bring
two schools of thinking together.One is the Carnatic, or south Indian, tradition of
classical music in India, represented here by O.S. Arun. He is one of the most gifted
Carnatic musicians in India and has six recording releases of bhajans and Carnatic
classical music, including one released by CBS Gramophone Company. The other is jazz, wich
Sylvain Gagnon
has performed all over the world with great success. With New Friends, devotionnal songs,
standards, new compositions and The Beatles' "And I Love Her" meet in order to
get people together. With jazz and Indian music both evolving, the Gagnon-Arun product has
