Well pretty much what I expected, Ten Foot Pole has turned into an amazing band. This cd is so much better than their first (and the first was pretty good). The vocals are better, the music is just amazing. The songs all seem to fit together so well. For example, the music gets really fast and then slow and it still sounds really smooth. The lyrics are a bit on the depressing side but most of the songs are really powerful and just impossible not to sing along to. Ten Foot Pole had a lineup change between this cd and the first one. Scott left the band but no one replaced him. He just did vocals on the first cd. I can't even notice the difference in the vocals though which is kinda weird. Anyway, I've heard a couple people say that the band was better with Scott, but personally, I like the new line-up more. All the songs are super good. Some fast, some slow, one song uses acoustic guitars. This cd is a must have for anyone, so buy it or be a fuckin' cheap shit-head and burn it off your computer like an asshole and rip off a hard working band-Phil
"Rev"
Released: 1994 Label: Epitaph
Songs: Never look back, My wall, Old man, Fade away, World's best dad, Co-song, Closer t grey, Final hours, Muffled, Broken bubble, Dying duck in a thunderstorm, Think of tomorrow, Pete's farm.
Ten Foot Pole's debut cd and a good one at that. This cd took me awhile before I realized how good it is. I bought it back in 97 and after a couple spins, I threw it near the bottom of my cd tower. Boy, that was stupid! I took this cd out a couple days ago and I find it quite good now. I think I was to much into NOFX back in 97 to give any other bands a chance. Anyway, its good but not great. Just a little above average. I think it sounds a little like Lagwagon, they have the same sorta style anyway. Not all the songs get my attention but they are all decent. I like the first 3 songs along with "closer to grey" and "final hours" the best. This cd is good enough to make me want to buy their new ones. And they do have new ones, "Unleashed" and "insider". If you can find this cd for a good price or used, buy it.-Phil
