The band formed in April 98 under the name CONTOUR 12 , and played in the famous Melton `Battle Of the Bands' in May. The band finished 5th in their and very nervous gig. It was at this stage that the band changed their name to BRAVE FACE. After that the band played at Mowbray College in Melton on the 11th of September. On September the 19th Michael (original rythm guitarist) died in a car accident . He was 16. The band then played in Mowbray battle of the bands and came first collectin $200 prize money. There were many changes in the band Bass player Simon changed to guitar. Singer Heath changed to Bass and Guitarist Luke went to Vocals .Buff remained on drums .The band planned to record a demo in December but didn't get around to it. By January 99 Luke ( original lead guitarist) . was no longer in the band as the boys music tastes differed . In early Febuary , Mark then joined the band as the second guitarist. On the 7th of Feb , BRAVE FACE played its first pub show and its first show with the new line up . The ARTHOUSE was the venue and the boys put on a piss poor but enjoyable performance . Skiream , Fallopian Tube, Whos to Blame? and One-900 were the other bands. On Friday 12th of Marchthe band played an in store show at Sabro Sounds in Melton. On the 21st Of March brave face played at the ARTHOUSE again with The Blindspot , Fallopion Tube and Who's to Blame? The band hasn't got anymore shows lined up so they are taking advantage of this and recording a demo .The band are recording at indent studios on the 24th of april and semo's will be availible through the band or Parker Lewis Records.
