Soundfonts are instrument files that can dramatically enhance the sound of your Creative Labs wavetable card. If you are the owner of a SB32, AWE32 or Sound Blaster Live card made by Creative Labs, then THIS MEANS YOU!!! These files, which are in the SF2 extension can be utilized by your card to offer sounds beyond what the factory supplies. Following the suit of this site, it allows you to virtually have synthesizers at your control. You could set up your sound card to have many of the classic synthesizers that has shaped the music industry. And, using MIDI editors like Cakewalk Pro, you could assign multiple "synthfonts" and have your own virtual keyboard setup.... just like the pros! At least you can feel like a pro. These soundfonts will allow you versatility and allow you to create music with style and much more versatility than you can with other soundcards. So, if you don't have a Creative Labs soundfont capable sound card..... I suggest you get one.
