Alex
Davis is Sparticus. By using a state of the art professional
MIDI instrument, the KORG N364, and his G3
Macintosh, Alex creates music by tracks one at a time (drums, bass
guitar, etc...). Through layering these individual tracks ontop of eachother,
the finished song sounds like a full band from the future. But guess what-
it is the future and Sparticus is the band to bring you these sounds. Alex
adds an extra bit of flavor to his songs by writing and recording his own
spacey, echoed, metaphorical lyrics.
Alex's own record lable,
Sonictek
Records, burns dozens of Sparticus CDs every month. Sparticus
works in a style of music called Techno.
This is undoubtedly the wave of music's future. Techno is a part of a larger
genre of music, called Electronica-
a term used to describe any kind of music that uses electronic instruments.
Sparticus's style is a mixture
of techno and drum'n'bass-
spacey,
futuristic music that has a perfect blend of dark and heavenly sounds.
He has at his fingertips an entire palatte of sounds (from beautifully
rich to deep and dark) that could only exist in the digital realm.
This just happens to be a realm that Sparticus has mastered.
