A Tribute To "The Creme of The Crop"

Windy Mills and I
had the great honor of recording our album with noted bluegrass legends.
Included was the ever famous
Josh Graves.

Josh
produced and directed as well as appearing on the album itself.
Mr. Graves brought with him his unique style
of commanding the
dobro
with each delicate maneuver.
The style created by Josh Graves is often copied by other artists However,
it is never mastered by anyone else.
Many thanks
Josh,
you are truly one of a kind.

Kenny Baker
graced us with his presence on those days.
He glided in with his smooth techniques of playing the
fiddle.
Kenny provided us with a silky sound that will make any heart melt.
Kenny we adore you

On our two-day recording session
we experienced Joe Stuart
. Joe waltzed in and strutted his stuff with the guitar.
He added his baritone notes as he sang harmony
on various cuts.
His opinion
was given throughout the entire session,
of which we were pleased.
He gave us tips, hints, and suggestions that would prove to be most helpful on our recording adventure.
We miss you
Joe

Emmit Sullivan
came from the Sullivan Family in Louisiana.
He played a powerful and haunting style of banjo for us.
We loved the way in which he intertwined his skillful harmonic notes around ours
to create a most unusual and delightful
sound on the instrumentals.
Emmit also shared his melodic tenor vocals on several cuts.
His voice,
when combined with Joe Stuart's baritone and Windy Mills' high harmony,
provided a very rich background which surrounded my soprano lead.
We are thankful for Emmit Sullivan's contribution.
May you sing with the angels
in heaven

While arranging our album
I dissected every song and each instrumental tune
before submitting it
to Josh Graves
for his approval for production.
When it came time to choose a bass player, Josh suggested
Johnny Montgomery
play the bass fiddle for us. We were delighted to hear of this. Therefore when he arrived
we were able to reach the
sounds
that we had planned for.
Thank you Johnny.

Frank Evans played bass fiddle
on one of the instrumental cuts of the album
(Redwing).
He came out of the engineer's booth to accommodate us. For this we are thankful.
Thank you Frank

A tremendous appreciation
is expressed
by both Windy Mills and I
to all of the musicians and participants who were administering their contributions, talents, advice, and charm
during our recording session.
We express gratefulness to all who were involved.
