Month 3-4

Wow, can't believe that I'm done my first trimester!
Also the circlage is done October 26 (at 12 weeks).
Cerclage is a series of stitches placed around the cervix. Cerclage can prevent a second trimester miscarriage or preterm delivery by keeping the cervix closed. Cerclage is performed if the mother has an incompetent cervix. An incompetent cervix partially opens and thins early, in the second trimester. And because that's happened to me the first time I was pregnant my gyn did the circlage to prevent another miscarriage.

They do a spinal or epidural because that anesthesia does not go to the baby and a general (putting you to sleep) does.
So I could follow it al, and before the circlage they took some ultra sounds to see if everything was ok with the babies.
The left one is now 50.8mm (11w.5d) and the right one is 55.8mm (12w1d). In the pic on the right you can see the baby and his shape very good.

Everything went well, and the next day I went back home, but first they looked how it went with the babies (which was just great!!) Also the gyn took a new ultrasound:

Normally you stay home for about 10 days to rest and then you can go back to work. But because having had a previous miscarriage, being pregnant of a twin and having a circlage, the risk is too high for me to go back to work.
So from now on I don't go to work anymore, and try to rest as much as I can. Now I have time to puzzle, watch TV and work on the homepage, ... Sometimes it's boring, bud I better enjoy it now because when the twin is born I don't think I will have much time left to sit back and relax :-))
Next year there will be so many changes: having two babies, a new house, new car, Peter has a new job,.. So in the mean time I have plenty to do: making everything ready for the babies and for the house.

Our next visit to the gyn was only 2 weeks later on November 8. And everything was great with the babies. They grow good and there is a lot of movement but I don't feel it now.
This was our first extern ultra and for me there was not much to see. But next time it will be better said the gyn. And that will be December 6, and there is a chance she can see which gender they have!! So not only me but also Peter is excited about our next visit.
