On the Sunny Side of the Street
Grab your coat and get your hat, leave your worry at the doorstep
Just direct your feet to the sunny side of the street
Can't you hear that pitter pat and that happy tune is your step
Life can be so sweet on the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid 'cause this rover, crossed over

If I never had a cent I'll be as rich as Rockfeller
Gold dust at my feet on the sunny side of the street

With those blues on parade
Because this rover, it crossed over

If I never had a cent I'll be as loaded as old Rockfeller
With that gold dust 'round my feet
On the sunny side of the street
On the side, at that side of the street that is sunny

Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street

Can't you hear the pitter-pat?
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street

I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid because this rover crossed over!

And if I never had a cent
I'd be rich as Rockefeller
With gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street

<instrumental break>

I used to walk in the shade with those blues on parade
But I'm not afraid because this rover crossed over!

And if I never had a cent
I'd be rich as *Harry Belafonte*
With *Barry Goldwater* at my feet
On the sunny   side of the street

TRANSCRIBER'S NOTE: Tony was obviously having some fun (*  *) in the last verse.

Being a jazz buff myself I am shocked that you have not included the Dizzy version of "On the Sunny Side of the Street" from "Sunny Side Up" with Sonny Stitt, Sonny Rollins, and Dizzy Gillespie. This album is considered to be one of the top five of all time, and to many of us buffs these are the words...

Grabbin' up your hats coats boots and everything
leave your worries on the doors step 'cause we's goin' bye and bye
just direct your feet, you look neat on the sunny side of the street
Cant you hear the pitta and the patta
of the rain drops tricklin' down the fire 'scappin' ladda
life could be so fine, fine as mmmmmmmm... wine
I used to walk, walk in the shade with my blues on parade, but I'm not
afraid, It's ova cassanova
If I neva had a cent a I'd be rich as rockyfella, gold dust at my feet
On the sunny....
On the shady....
On the sunny side of the street

this comes the last solo chourus of the song, and I don't think I have
them exactly right...I'll listen and make sure I get them to you the
right way. I dig your site...It's very phatty.

Thanks for you Time
