(Freedmen) Escoe names claim 1/8 Indian blood. Wife of Thomas Jefferson Escoe was Mary Mahalia Barheche, daughter of full blooded Creek Indian Unip Bareche. These names are their descendants.
Mulatto: There are Escoe names in census's that list the children as "mulatto" or white and probably Indian mixed bloodlines.
