Job Springer, Greene Co, Will Book B (1870-1841) p. 91.

Greene and Morengo counties were adjoining. Marengo was formed in 1818 from the Choctaw Session in 1819, part was cut to form Greene County and in 1867 another part was cut off to form part of Hale County.

From Michelle McMullin:  Bettie Belle Springer b. 7/30/1855 at Itawamba MS, d. 11/16/1930.  Her parents were Elisha Springer (b. 12/9/1819 at Marengo Co AL d. 3/20/1862 possibly in the Civil War) and Louisiana Davis (b. 9/7/1828 d, 9/11/1860)
Elisha Springer's parents were John Springer and Miner Whailey.  John Springer's father was Job Springer.

Rev John Springer (b. 1744, d.1798 in Wilkes Co GA) married (1) in 1762 to his cousin Susanna Springer (2) in 1779 to Catherine Bullock (3) Ann Green.  He names a daughter Lucinda.  Note that Pheobe names a daughter Lucinda.

Cristoph Springer b. 1592 Lamstedt, Hannover, Germany d. Stockholm Sweden 1669 m. Beatea Jacobine Hendrickson b. 1592.   Their son Jacob Springer b. 1666 Srockholm Sweden d. 1731 Burlington NJ m. Phoebe.  They had Dorothy Springer b. ca 1726 Burlington NJ d. ca 1785 Pricketts Fort, Monongahela WVA m. Jacob Prickett, Mount Holly, NJ 11 May 1745, they had Drusilla Prickett who m. Morgan Morgan, s/o David Morgan and Sarah Stevens (he , the famous Indian fighter)  David, father, was the first white settler in WVA and David and his brother Zacquill Morgan established Morgantown WVA.  (From Jacqueline Rubins in Cape Canaveral)

"7 Aug 1810... Petition of Ann SPRINGER, Admx of John Springer , dec'd,
'the distributees having expressed their consent' to sell 250 acres on
Long Creek, and a tract on FISHING CREEK adj. Nicholas Long and others
commonly called 'Walnut Hill.'"
 
GILMORE, JOHN and wife Nancy of Wilkes County, to Griffin Smith of Nottoway
Co., Virginia, 200 acres on Fishing Creek, whereon said GILMORE now lives ,
originally granted 1784 to said GILMORE. Feb 11, 1791 Jas. Matthews, John
