Requirements, About, etc.

To enjoy this site, you MUST have two things.

1. RealPlayer G2
 

    Currently this site uses only Real Content clips and metafiles. I plan to use "Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language(SMIL)" for more attractive presentation of clips. I am presently testing such presentations and will start updating my site with them soon. If you have RealPlayer below G2, the site may work now in your computer, but will not do so once I start updating the site with SMIL files. In my knowledge, only RealPlayer G2 or above are supporting SMIL 1.0 specification. If you don't have RealPlayer G2, you can download it free from here.

    I have tested this site using only RealPlayer G2.

2. AdarshaLipi Font
For faster download time, this site uses True Type bengali font instead of large image files. Unfortunately this font is developed for Windows 3.1, 95/98 and NT. Unix and Mac users will not be able to see this site. In near future, these areas of incompatibility will be addressed.

How do you know if you already have this font installed in your machine?

The following is an .gif file.

And the following uses the bengali font.

If you can compare the .gif image with the line above, you probably have the font.
If you are seeing some junk at the line above, you do not have the font, and are required to install it.

This Bengali font is developed at "www.bengali.org". If you don't have this font installed in your machine, you can download this font and the installation guide of it from here.

Please note, both the above links are out of my control, and may not work if the actual page is moved by it's owner. If you experience any problem in downloading either RealPlayer G2 or the bengali font, please e-mail me.

This site only offers Real Media content. All contents are recorded for 56Kbps dialup lines or better. This choice is taken considering the quality of the content ( for 28Kbps, quality goes low) and the upcoming availibility of higher bandwidth and cheap dial up lines for individuals. If you are accessing this site using a line with lower bandwidth than 56Kbps, you may experience unexpected pause-and-restart in presentation clippings. Please e-mail me if you experience it. I may decide to provide contents for 28Kbps audience if I get too many of such mail.

This site is tested using Internet Explorer 4.0, Netscape Communicator 4.0 and above. I hope it will work fine with later versions of these browsers. I assume no responsibility for any other browser regarding compatibility.
