He used to rap under the name Magnolia Slim. His little brother is the
BG, off Ca$h Money Records. They used to rap together under the names of
Lil' Doobie AKA the BG and Mangela AKA Magnolia Slim. He grew up with
Master P. He used to sell narcotics and cocaine and was an ex-dopefiend.
He has dropped two other albums before he signed with No Limit,
Dark Side and Soulja Fa Life, off Parkway Records. He made his first
appearance on No Limit with the song, "You Got It," off Down South
Hustlers "Bouncin' N Swangin'." In '95, he went to prison for committing
an armed robbery and got 10 years with a possibility of parole. Four
years later, he got released from prison and signed a record deal at No
Limit. He changed his name when he signed with No Limit,replacing
"Magnolia" with "Soulja," to give him more of a new start, new life. He
just released his first No Limit album, Give It 2 'Em Raw, in late May
of'98.
