The Gatekeeper

real name: A. Hamilton
name:The Gatekeeper
other names: Frukwan

gate.jpg (5626 bytes)

Gatekeeper is probably the most mysterious member of the Gravediggaz. There is very little known about him. Back in 1986 he was in a group called 'Stetsasonic'. Another member of that group was Prince Paul. When the group broke up, Gatekeeper
didn't came with a solo joint or hang with another group. Gatekeeper sticked to the underground and he came up when the Gravediggaz were formed. It was again Prince Paul who was responsible for his comeback. Gatekeep is a lyricist with a special touch. He is the one who writes the most lyrics of the group. Gatekeeper is also a producer and has his own production company, Black Lordz Productions. Frukwan produced 3 tracks for 'The Pick..', but only 1 made it to the album, the other 2 were reserved for soundtracks and b-sides. Gatekeeper will eventually drop his own solo album. No title, date is known.

The Grym Reaper is the only Gravedigga who didn't had a known hip-hop carreer. He was hanging with a group called: 'The Brothers Grym'. Together with Brainstorm he did his thing.  Grym Reaper is also a producer, he produced 3 tracks on 'The Pick, The Sickle & The Shovel', 'Unexplained', 'Elimination Process', & 'Repentance Day', all tracks were produced under his own production company, Sharpshooter Productions. Not only does he have his own production label, he also has his own underground record label, Plasma Records. Thankfully, Grym Reaper is now working on his own solo album, so be on the look out for that one. It will be released in the late 1998 or early 1999....

Prince Paul

real name: P. Huston
name: Prince Paul
other names: The Undertaker, Dr. Strange

paul.jpg (5487 bytes)

Prince Paul is from origin a producer. This goes far back in time. He debuted with the overlooked album of 'Stetsasonic': 'On Fire'. From then he produced a lot.  Hiphop-artists such as 'De La Soul', 'Big Daddy Kane' and ofcourse 'Stetsasonic' with The Gatekeeper and himself. Stetsasonic released their last album in 1991 and broke up around the same time. He produced only the first album and some tracks of the following two.
Then, Prince Paul created his own record label called 'Dew Doo Man Records', it flopped. After a number of ups & downs in his career, The Prince joined the Gravediggaz under the alias of 'Tha Undertaker', he produced the majority of their first album: '6 Feet Deep'.
Prince Paul continued producing for artists such as Dr Octagon, Cypress Hill, and Vernon Reid.
Prince Paul released his solo album in 1996, 'Psychoanalysis (What Is It?)'. He did it all himself: the production, the raps, the music and the promotion.

Rzarector

real name: Robert Diggs
name: Rzarector
other names: Prince Rakeem, The RZA, Bobby Steels (for more information click here)

rza.jpg (5792 bytes)

Everybody knows him. He is the executive producer of the whole Clan and some Wu-Fam members. He supplies the Gravediggaz with ill beats and the best lyrics.
The Rzarector is the brain behind the Gravediggaz, just like with the Clan. The whole Gravediggaz is, so called, build upon him. He co-produced some tracks on Niggamortis (6 Feet Deep, EU).  On the new album Rzarector took it over from Prince Paul. He only produced two songs on the new album: 'The Pick, The Sickle and The Shovel'.
He also produced the videos of the new album.
