Some
of Houston's Punk Bands!!!!
(Crash 81, 30 Foot Fall, and
Animosity) |

Crash 81 plays high
energy melodic punk rock not unlike such bands as: Ten Foot Pole, 88 Fingers
Louie, No Use For A Name, Good Riddance, etc. Their live shows are
quite entertaining. They always do something to try and get the crowd
involved (past performances include: the members all wearing hawaiian shirts,
throwing out cheetos to the crowd, throwing out free stickers all the time,
always joking around and having a good time, etc.) and they are crazy live.
They jump all over the place and really get into the music. Their
sound has quite a variety, every song sounds different from the other ones
which is rare in a punk band these days. They have recently released
a tape. Ten songs for only two bucks. And yes the guys are now a part of
Good Guy Records (are you seeing a trend here?). Visit their page here. |

This is definately
one of Houston's best punk bands. Most recently the guys signed
with Nitro Records, the guys who started out Green Day, and home to
my bud Danny Blitz. These guys truly put on a awesome
show and I love their catchy punk style--hey, da boys can harmonize!
This four man act has played with many of today's best punk
bands, toured across America, and has good taste in beer. This
is truly a feat for a band from Texas (especially the good taste in
beer), but with two CD's already out and more to come, a plethera of
compilations, 30
Foot Fall's become one of Houston's best bands. Try to visit the
guys here. |

Animosity is now a piece
of history on this page. I've seen them play and do many great things.
This band truly
has some raw talent and puts on a great show! They have been known
to play along side Crash 81 (another favorite) for a while and had Corry
the Drummer of the Latch Key Kids. The guys have moved on to various projects
including Drawn Blank. I hear they play shows ever so often now, but everyone
tells me that they are no longer a band.
The four man act hit closer to punk-core and mixes different sounds together
to get a very edgy, raw sound. They recently put out a 7" and it is carried
through Good Guy Records so go buy it whenever you can! |
