HARVEY MANDEL IS A GUITAR GOD!!
News
I recently sang at a show with HARVEY MANDEL, my absolute favorite Gtr God, in Oakland 10 /13 /01.   working on getting another underway real soon----check back for any possible "Harvey sitings"  A true dream to behold!  See some great quotes about this guitar GURU.

"I stole from him shamelessy in the mid '70's. He probably influenced a lot of people with his two-handed tapping, which he pioneered. He's really an unsung hero."
David Torn
Guitarist
"He was a major influence and ground-breaking guitarist."
Henry Kaiser
Guitarist
"The first person I saw doing that hammer-on stuff was Harvey Mandel, at the Whiskey A Go-Go in '68. I thought 'What the hell is he doing?' It was so funny, Jim Morrison was carried out and Jimi Hendrix was there too. Then Harvey Mandel starts doing this stuff (mimes tapping). 'What's he doing?' everybody was saying. Even the audience stopped dancing. Obviously, Eddie Van Halen must have picked up a few of those things."
Ritchie Blackmore
Deep Purple
"A hugely influential but almost forgotten giant of instrumental rock."......."Mandel finally has a scorching new album, 'Snakes and Stripes,' and is celebrating its release with his Electric Snake Band. Guitar freaks, rally round this sinewy banner - you have nothing to lose but your skin."
Derk Richardson
San Francisco Bay Guardian
"The audience at the Great American Music Hall yelped with glee."
Michael Snyder
San Francisco Chronicle
"A guitar fan guru for nearly 25 years."......."Guitar hero Harvey Mandel was joined by an all-star cast that included Grammy Award winning producer Narada Michael Walden on drums, Tony Saunders on bass and Merl Saunders on organ. Mandel's explosive set packed a wallop as the virtuoso guitar-slinger proved to be in top form, playing before his peers."......."But what really fuels 'Snakes and Stripes' is Mandel's explosive fretwork. Nicknamed 'The Snake,' Mandel gives a dynamic display of his considerable guitar prowess, injecting his patented style of controlled feedback and sustain on every cut."
J.C. Juanis
Relix Magazine
"The band organized by guitarist Harvey Mandel and featuring organist Howard Wales played the sort of electric blues sounds that warmed my jazz-oriented ears from the late 1950s on and kept me interested in rock on through the '70s. Gutsy stuff, compelling (an overwhelming) beat. Knockout performance."
Philip Elwood
San Francisco Examiner

Harvey Mandel is one of my all time favorite guitar players.  To know him is to love him.   He has influenced so many of our great guitar players, and played with Everyone from Howling Wolf, &  Muddy Waters,  to the Stones.  ....I am so completely thrilled that we may be doing some upcoming  shows and He  has offered to do the  mastering of my CD coming out soon.
Please follow the link below ( picture ) to learn more about this TRUE legend,  and what he did for music as we know it now.    He is the BEST at what HE does....and the only.
Freddie Roulette also  played w/ us ( Although this was one time, when there was only a little room for "other sections" We kept it pretty busy!.  This is my most favorite vein to be in ...It is BLUES , but it is ALSO psychodelia.  That is my passion!...Not being a great guitar player, i have been trying to get people to play "like Harvey  Mandel" .... they often joke with me and say "Who?  that comedian?" ....aw,  man    F off ...that's HOWIE!  This is a God not a geek!
Check back for news on shows I will be doing or booking  for  this guitar genius.

The "Snake man"    he can charm anything.
