VINCE CARTER
Vince slams a tomahawk jam
Name: VINCE CARTER
Team: Toronto Raptors
Jersy #: 15
Vince Carter, in many eyes, is the next Michael Jordan . But to many others, he is not quite MJ material yet. To be the greatest, you have to have mad skillz and be a good scorer (that he has), but you also have to lead your team to championships come Playoff time. Vince Carter is already well on his way. He played in the All-Star 2000 game for the East and did well (him and Iverson make a great team. They had sweet alley-oops and dunks) Vince Carter also had a spectacular day the night before in the All Star dunk contest. He got all 50's except for 1 or 2 49's. of course, he easily won the contest.(Check out more highlights from this year's all star game in the All-Star 2000 section)

Note: To all b-ball card collectors (like myself), buy lots of card packs beacuse there are lots of Vince Carter rookies floatin' around. Soon, those cards will be worth a lot.

KEVIN GARNETT
Another young superstar on his way to the top, Kevin Garnett is an excellent player and averages almost 24 points a game. His height and speed used together are a deadly combination. He can play almost any position, but he dominates as power forward for the Minnesota Timberwolves. At the All-Star break, he the West was a force to be reckoned with when it came down to playing against the Big Three; Shaq, Duncan, and Garnett. As you can see in this pic, Kevin also got the hops. His quickness and fakes and leave almost any opponent in a daze. Garnett is also in the process of holding his team's 5th playoff spot in the Western Conference. If team standings stay the same until playoff time(few days)they will play Phoenix in the first round, and without Jason Kidd to help the Suns, the T'Wolves stand a chance of going all the way in the playoffs this year. BEST IN THE WEST!
Shaq, 7'1, 328 lbs, former Orlando Magic star, now dominates in the NBA. He has the most points per game (avg. 33), top 5 in rebounds, top 10 in assists, and has scored 40+ points in 8 games this season. On his 28th birthday, he scored a career high 61 points. Shaq is definetly MVP material. The L.A. Lakers are also second to none. With a 16 game winning streak and a 19 game winning streak, both broken, they lead the league 65 wins, 13 losses (as of April 14-2000) Shaq was out a couple games with a sprained ankle (one of these games, the Lakers lost) But he came back Friday to whoop the Sacramento Kings 121-114. Kobe had 31 points, Rice had 20 and Shaq with 42. The rest of the team had 27. The Big Three are unstoppable when they are up to it. In the second half, Lakers had about 91% shooting. Glen Rice is also the best in the NBA in free throw shooting (87%). Shaq raised his FT average to about 60% (great improvement from 39%). Lakers are most likely to grab the title in the playoffs this year. Of course, they couldn't have done it without KOBE BRYANT!

TIM DUNCAN
TIm Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs. Big man, is also another excellent shot, he has good accuracy, good height, good agility, and is a good all-around player. In the All-Star game, he had a double-double in points and rebounds. He had 20 points and 14 rebounds (7 off., 7 def.). He is also a key player for the San Antonio Spurs, and works well with teammate David Robinson. All his effort has paid off to to bring his team to hold a 4th place playoff spot in the Western Conference. They won the 1999 playoffs last year against the Knicks amd they hope to accomplish that task once again this year with the return of Sean Elliot. Duncan drives at the all-star game
