Here do you find an updated sited of where you can get the
DeCSS.zip-file or the css-auth_tar.gz-file:
http://www.rhythm.cx/dvd/
This site has unfortunately been taken down but I have made a local mirrorof this site. Feel free to check it out.
Or you can download the files:
here(DeCSS)or
here(css-auth CVS code)
here(LiVid.tar.gz)
here(cssdvd.zip)
here(nist-0_6.tgz)

css-auth.tar.gz - The code from an open source DVD project.
DeCSS.zip - A Win32 binary for decrypting DVD data streams.
cssdvd.zip - a zip file of the css code
LiVid.tar.gz - all the work of LiVid(Linux DVD Code)
nist-0_6.tgz - the beginning of a Linux DVD player

Gej DIVX MPEG4 codec 3th release

This is the best method of converting a DVD to a handable home format, I have seen so far. It is a VOB to AVI conversion at almost DVD quality and 100% synch. The conversion procedure takes about 10 hours (PII 500) for a 2 hrs movie. Considering dvd2mpg takes about twice as long, this ain't too bad and you get MUCH BETTER quality.

MD5 Sums:

This site contains some good technical documentation as well as more source code that the DVD consorium's layers would rather you not see: http://crypto.gq.nu/ or the local mirror

If you have any problems with the links or mirrors please let me know: fluke@loveable.com

Note to lawyers and other scum:

This information is widely available by now, and no matter what you do, you will not be able to supress it. It was the DVD consortium that f***ed up, and now you're trying to solve a technological problem with threats and legal action?
If there were fines on stupidity, yours would cover the national debts of most western countries.
