Well, well, well. You've finally got Pinna up and running. Now you want to get those birds healthy with full tummies and diarrhea free. You have the BirdMan6 zip file is siting on your desktop.
Let's assume that you have your Pinna folder located in Program Files on your “C” drive. Extract the “BirdMan.exe” to a new folder in your program folder labeled BirdMan. Create a desktop shortcut to “birdman.exe”. Poof, tis done. BirdMan is ready to work his magic.
Click on the desktop shortcut and this window will open.
![]() I have labeled the left and right panes so you can see what I am typing.
In the left pane double left click on “Program Files” and then “Pinna” (you will have to scroll down to locate Pinna). BirdMan will now look something like this:
![]() If you double left click on each folder BirdMan will list the cages you have stored within each folder. More than likely your cages will be in your main Pinna folder. The cages in “Sample” will be listed if you double left click on “Sample”.
If you click on a cage in the right pane and then click start (or just double left click on the cage) this window will pop up if there are birds in the cage. (If there are no birds in the cage you will see a little pop up window that says “file differs”.)
![]() If you place a check mark in the boxes for health, fullness, juicy, courage, strength, and age BirdMan will show a default value of 100 for each. You can change them to any value that you like that is less than 100.
Health, fullness, and juicy are the most important boxes BirdMan offers. Maxing out these values will make a sick bird well. The age box is useful to age fledged chicks to adulthood (or vice versa). BirdMan does not age chicks that are still in the nest. Make changes in the stats to cages that are closed.
The name of the cage you have selected appears in the “file name” box. If you wish BirdMan to make your changes within this cage just click “OK” and wait for the window to disappear. (Make sure that the cage is not open.) When you open the cage you can verify that the stats that you have modified have indeed been implemented.
If you wish BirdMan to make your modifications to a different file name (say “canary 2”) just enter the new file name, click `OK” and BirdMan will create a copy of the cage with the modified stats. (You can do the same with basic copy/paste/create copy here/etc techniques but the birds will not have modified stats.) The birds in the cage can be removed but you will receive an error message if you try to add the birds to another cage and the birds will disappear from the list. New chicks produced in the cage copy can be removed and added to other cages with no problem.
Fujitani is constantly improving and updating BirdMan. The most recent version available at the time I write this primer is version 0.1.8.
