(From Next Generation Online 30th June 1998)
" Reflections, the team that brought you Destruction Derby, DD2, and the legendary Shadow of the Beast for Amiga, is crafting another beauty, Driver.
Looking to capture the thrills, spills and chills of that great American
institution, the car chase, Reflections casts the player as the driver
of a getaway car.
Reflections says the game will be available for the PC and PlayStation,
and will use its expertise in collision dynamics, car physics and mult-vehicle
scenarios to make Driver as lush and bone-jarring as possible.
Players will have to speed through an urban landscape, but will have the freedom to drive anywhere, in any direction at any speed -- down busy streets, over pavements, across parks, up narrow streets, through packed parking lots, anywhere.
Of course, other drivers in the game will be obeying the rules of the road: stopping at red lights, obeying the speed limit, keeping off the pavement. You, as the getaway driver, are charged with invading their peaceful, law-abiding world, causing traffic chaos.
No word yet on when Driver might be released, but Next Generation Online has secured some PC screen shots to tide you over until we dig up more info. "
