GAME DESCRIPTION
(Description from Digital Sports)
"This is a fast driving, intensely competitive Grand Touring racing simulation game for the PC under Windows 95. For the player's driving pleasure, all of the dream cars racing in the 1998 season of the Professional SportsCar championship will be authentically re-created.
Featuring the utmost authenticity, each racing track and car will be rendered in 3-D and carefully designed to the specifications of its real-world counterpart. Utilizing advanced driving simulations created for the auto industry, the game will feature aerodynamically correct replicas of aspirational sports car models, so players who've always dreamed of owning these sleek automobiles will get to feel what it's like to actually command a set of world class wheels. The game will also feature likenesses of famed racing teams and highly intelligent computer controlled opponents who simulate the driving styles of real-life drivers.

True to the actual SportsCar Supreme GT Championship Series, SportsCar lets the player jump into the car of his choice and punch it through heavily challenging sprints and treacherous endurance events in which smart driving is more important than raw speed.
To make this simulation even more immersive, SportsCar is visually reminiscent of 90's television racing coverage. The introduction video, camera positions and racing itself borrows heavily from the dynamic, lightning fast techniques and styles now seen on television sports coverage. With seamless multiplayer networking, highly competitive leadfoots can enjoy simultaneous head to head action against up to 16 other speed freaks at a time.
Boasting bone crunching, metal twisting crashes and awesome special effects including variable weather conditions and day and night driving, this officially endorsed racing simulation is scheduled for a Q4 1998 release.

"The latest addition to the ever-expanding racing genre is Sportscar supreme GT. It's the officially-licensed game of a fairly obscure racing series that was, up until recently, known as IMSA. However, the cars it features are far from little-known -- the series features racing versions of such exotic roads cars as Saleen Mustang, BMW M3, Acura NSX, Oldsmobile Aurora and Dodge Viper and such pure-bred sports cars as Panoz GTR, Porsche 911 GT-1 and McLaren F1. It's certainly a drool-worthy selection of vehicles, and -- better still -- all will feature in the game.
As well as featuring a wealth of officially-licensed cars, Sportscar also boasts the full roster of IMSA championship tracks, including such well-known North American courses as the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Sebring International Raceway, Mosport Park in Canada and Laguna Seca. There will also be a selection of custom-made fantasy tracks that are only available when you achieve certain objectives in the game.
The PC version of this title is already looking extremely impressive. Developed by ISI, who used to create full-blown vehicle simulations for Mercedes Benz, Sportscar utilizes an incredibly realistic physics engine, an extremely fast software renderer and, of course, optional hardware acceleration. The unaccelerated hi-res demo we saw features cars racing around in the rain, and it looks very good indeed -- the gorgeously modeled cars and their lights are convincingly reflected in the soaking track surfaces, and the trackside objects and environmental lighting look superb.

Sportscar features a full career mode for the single player and -- best of all -- a multiplayer mode that enables up to 16 people to simultaneously race over LAN or Internet. This combined with its impressive looks results in a racing game we're really excited about. Stay tuned for more details. "
