Electronic Arts will publish Sports Car GT for both the PlayStation and PC. The game is being produced by Westwood Pacific in Irvine, CA. Both platforms are scheduled to ship in Spring 1999.

Sports Car GT will offer racing on authentic road tracks from North America (PC and PSX) and Europe (PC Only). The game will also feature downloadable cars and tracks via the Internet. Sports Car GT will feature more than 45 cars and teams. Among them will be the Porsche 911, BMW M3 and the Saleen Mustang. Players will be able to upgrade these cars and fine tune them for maximum performance.

Sport Car GT for the Playstation and the PC offers GT racing (production cars on road tracks) in the fastest incarnations of the hottest cars on the road. The game features authentic tracks from North America (PSX & PC) and Europe (PC Only), detailed 3-D graphics for both platforms and challenging Artificial Intelligence (AI) opponents.

Players can choose from over 45 licensed cars including super-charged versions of the BMW M3 and the Saleen Mustang. Each of the cars looks and handles like their real-life GT counterparts. Additionally, racing enthusiasts have the option of upgrading and tuning these cars for optimal performance.

Racing occurs on authentic tracks from North America and Europe. Gamers can choose to race on the twisty Laguna Seca track or dare to overcome the labyrinthine Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Each of the tracks are accurately modeled to give players a highly realistic and immersive racing experience.

Sports Car GT features highly rendered 3-D graphics which helps bring the racing experience to life. Special effects include various weather conditions such as rain which affect gameplay. Racers can also select which time of day they wish to compete. In addition the game includes a real time feature which allows players to race up to 24 hours.

The game's AI drivers were designed to closely simulate the driving styles of real-life GT racers and are sure to test the mettle of even the most hard-core racing fan. Multi-player on the PSX includes a "Pink Slip" mode. Using their memory cards, gamers race their saved cars against each other. The winner keeps the loser's car. Any attempt to pull out the memory cards during the race will erase both cars.

In addition to the European tracks, Sports Car GT for the PC features downloadable cars and tracks via the internet. The PC version also includes TCP or IPX network play.
