Old News:

March 5, 1999

N64 Controller:  The N64 controller site has been updated.  They claim to have fixed a bug that was present in the design, and also are suggesting that we could be seeing a new release of Direct Pad Pro in the next few days, adding support for the N64 controller (or controllers maybe?)  Look out for it soon!

Server Upgrades:  The main site may be down for periods of time today, due to upgrade work to the servers.  Emulation World, who host this site, will be performing upgrades for most of the day, so please visit the mirror site at FC if you can not get on to this one.  Once again, the mirror is located at http://www.fortunecity.com/underworld/doom/727/.   Updates will be at a minimum until service is returned to normal.

Mirror:  I have now set up an official mirror site to this page.  Why?  Well, two reasons really.  First of all, in the case that this site is not available for some reason, either due to server trouble or other unforseen problems, and secondly, if Fortune City is faster for you to get access to, (not likely, but anyway,) it allows for easy access on both sides of the globe.   The address for this mirror is http://www.fortunecity.com/underworld/doom/727/, so go bookmark it now.

BrSMS 1.18.2:  Ricardo has been hard at work, and today I find in my inbox, BrSMS 1.18.2.  This is the latest release, and promises to run happily under Win95.  There are no new features that were not pointed out in 1.18, this is just a service release to fix some compatibility issues.  The public version should be released in about a week.  If you wish to become a registered user of BrSMS, (and why wouldn't you, it's free,) then download a copy of the latest public release from the official BrSMS web site, and fill in the registration form, and return it to Ricardo.  That's all there is to it.

Downtime:  I Apologise to those who have been trying to access the web site in the last 24+ hours, but due to things out of my control, the site was not reachable.  I have contacted my web hosts about this, but at this time, can offer no explanations.  This is not to sat that I am unhappy with the service that Emulation World have shown me this far, because with out their help and support, you wouldn't even be reading this.  Thanks guys.

BrSMS 1.18:  It seems that BrSMS 1.18r was an unstable release.  Ricardo is going back to the 1.17 sources and re-implementing the additional 1.18 features.  Expect a release of 1.18.2 as soon as it is ready.   From the official BrSMS web site:

[1.18 bug report]

Looks like that v1.18 is an unstable version.

I received some reports from people who couldn't run v1.18. Sometimes it crashes when you press a key, sometimes it crashes when you enter in the debugger, sometimes it doesn't begin at all.

These errors seems to be related with Win95. This never happened to me under DOS 6.22. Griffin Knodle reports that "restart to DOS" works fine, so Win95 users please use this.

I will get back to v1.17 and reimplement all the new features again. The v1.18 will not be distributed on the homepage, and v1.18.2 will be available soon.

Mozy's Swamp BBS:  Coming soon, (hopefully,) an Australian BBS, or Bulletin Board System, (you remember those?) will be going online.   It will be reachable via telnet, or by local telephone number if you are in Melbourne Australia.  If you want to check out some info about this BBS before it goes online, go to the official web site located at http://welcome.to/mozysswamp. There will be plenty of emulation stuff for everyone, so bring your doggy bag.

BrSMS:  BrSMS 1.18r has been released to registered users.  New features include partial emulation of Sega's first home computer, the SC-3000. Also new or fixed in this release:
