Shampoo

Shampoo is derived from the chinese words "Shan" and "Pu." Some may argue that "Shan" is actually spelled "Xian," but I'm Mandarin, so I'm sticking with "Shan" since it is the official pronounciation. "Xian" probably is another dialect. Anyways, "Shan" means mountain. I can't seem to get the chinese meaning of "Pu," but some have said that it means girl. In my skillful knowledge of Chinese, "Pu" can be put into the meaning of servant. Again, these dialects really screws things up.

Like Nabiki Tendo, Shampoo (Shan Pu) is also my favorite female character. I have a similar dilemma compared to Tatewaki Kuno. TK drives himself crazy over making the choice between Akane and The Pigtail Girl. I myself am also in a similar situation by choosing either Nabiki or Shampoo as my favorite. Time will tell.

Profile

Shampoo is an Amazon girl from Central China. While Ranma and Genma were in China training the "Anything Goes Martial Arts" in the Amazon, they discovered a fighting tornament in Shampoo's village. Ranma beats Shampoo in the fight and because of Amazon tradition and rules, Shampoo was expected to marry Ranma. From then on, Shampoo began chasing Ranma. Eventually, Ranma went back to Japan, but Shampoo could not follow. Months after, Shampoo suddenly appeared in Japan and her grandmother Cologne opened up the Cat Cafe. When Ranma changes to a girl, Shampoo would do anything to kill her and as well as the other girls such as Akane, Ukyou and Kodachi.
