Ranma Saotome is the main character from the Anime
Ranma 1/2. It appears that her name is the title of the show. 1/2 comes
from his metamorphosis from boy-type of "Kun" to "Chan" which is the girl-type.
She's my third favorite girl character from Ranma 1/2 because she is very
cute too.

Ranma Saotome is the son of Genma Saotome and Nodoka
Saotome. Ranma was expected to be raised as a manly man according to Nodoka,
his mother. To fulfill her expectations, Genma took Ranma out of the house
and traveled to China. Ranma began training his Anything Goes Martial Arts.
Unfortunately, Genma and Ranma fell into the cursed springs of Jusenkyo.
As a result, Ranma turns into a girl when touched cold water and Genma
turns into a giant panda. Genma promised his friend Soun Tendo that Ranma
would marry one of his daughters. Akane Tendo was chosen as the person
Ranma would marry. However, Akane thinks Ranma is big pervert because Ran-chan
accidently saw her naked in the bath tub. The story began and when Ranma
is a "chan," Shampoo wants to kill her and Tatewaki Kuno can not keep his
hands off of her. To Kuno, Ranma-chan is known as The Pig-tailed Girl.
