The rank of Blade Master is awarded to any Clan member who has distinguished themselves in combat and has scored 150 plus confirmed kills.
The Blade Master also sits on the War Council and helps decide the Clans ongoing strategies and policies. He (or she) can recommend any Clan member to the Aemon for either promotion or citations for courage and achievements on the field of battle. Although it is the Aemon who has the final say in matters of awarding citations or promotions, the Blade Master is not often questioned.
The duties of the Blade Master include voting on issues proposed to the War Council as well as leading men in combat. The Blade Master has the authority to plan, and execute any battle plans that he desires after gaining consent of a Blade Master Elite. If a Blade Master Elite is not available, the Blade Master has the authority to execute his plans but is held accountable for any adverse repercussions from the planned action. If the Clan is bought into disrepute or dis-honour from any direct action that the Blade Master undertakes, the Blade Master can be asked to surrender his (or her) blade and be demoted. Depending on the level of dis-honour bought against the Clan, would decide how far the Balde Master is demoted. However, if the Blade Master performs extremely well in the field and brings honour to the Clan and to himself, he can be rewarded with a citation, or in extreme cases, an honourary promotion.
The final duty of the Blade Master is to raise any issues bought to him (or her) by any Clan member, regardless of rank. It is the Blade Master duty to forward any dispute, disagreement, or general comments of Clan members to a Blade Master Elite, or directly to the Aemon for consideration or ruling.
