The rank of Knight of the Blade is awarded to any Clan member who has distinguished themselves in combat and has scored 100 plus confirmed kills.

The Knight of the Blade is not required to sit on the War Council but can be invited to if the matter at hand is either extremely important or if the War Council requires additional votes to clearly vote on any subject before them. The Knight of the Blade can recommend any Clan member to a Blade Master for a citation for courage and achievements on the field of battle. The Blade Master is then required to bring the recommendation before the Aemon.

The duties of the Knight of the Blade primarily lie in leading men into combat. The Knight of the Blade has the authority to lead a small party of Clan members into battle, but is not permitted to carry out a major intrusion or action without the prior consent of a Blade Master. If a Blade Master is not available, the Knight of the Blade can lead a small party of 'volunteers' into battle if the need is dire, however he is to be held accountable for any adverse repercussions from the action. If the Clan is bought into disrepute or dis-honour from any direct action that the Knight of the Blade undertakes, the Knight can be asked to surrender his (or her) blade and be demoted. Depending on the level of dis-honour bought against the Clan, would decide how far the Knight is demoted. However, if the Knight performs extremely well in the field and brings honour to the Clan and to himself, he can be rewarded with a citation, or in extreme cases, an honourary promotion.

The final duty of the Knight of the Blade is to raise any issues bought to him (or her) by any Clan member, regardless of rank, to the Blade Master. It is the Blade Master duty to then forward any dispute, disagreement, or general comments of Clan members to a Blade Master Elite, or directly to the Aemon for consideration or ruling.
