When you begin painting eyes, it is quite a daunting thought. At this stage however you do not really need to worry about the eyes. Normal troops eyes do not really need painting to a high standard anyway as you will not really see them very well, as with the picture on the left. When you paint the face, add some flesh or chestnut ink to the eye sockets to add a little shade. This will do for troops and will look ok on the battlefield, but if you want you can go a stage further, like in the picture opposite, by painting a small amount of white into the socket.
