Wood.
When wood is modelled onto models, it is very often highly detailed. Because of this, you can very easily paint it effectively. First, paint the area with Bestial Brown, filling all the gaps. Now wash over the area with Brown Ink mixed with a little bit of Black Ink. This should darken all of the recesses. Now comes the tricky part, get some Bestial Brown on your brush, but wipe some of it off, like you were drybrushing (however leave a bit more paint on the brush than when drybrushing) now, draw the brush over the area vertically and neatly, concentrating on the raised areas. Repeat this process with Snakebite Leather and finally lightly with Bubonic Brown. This will achieve a very effective wooden texture. You could if you wanted neaten this up by painting on some highlights.
