Stage 1
After assembling the model, spray it with white spray paint. You could use paint for this undercoat but I find spray much neater and easier to work with.

Stage 2
The skin areas of the figure are now given a wash of chestnut ink. Don't worry about neatness too much at this stage as you can always go back and paint over mistakes.

Stage 3
This area is now drybrushed over with bleached bone. I find that if you use two or three light coats of drybrushing the finished effect is much smoother and neater.

Stage 4
The chitin and claws are given a coat of black. This will act as an undercoat for stage 5

Stage 5
Red gore is now painted over the black areas, followed by a couple of coats of blood red. more blood red is painted nearer the edges of the chitin and claws. I painted in many verticle lines. I then painted over the red areas with gloss varnish. The base was finished by adding sand to it.
