    Protoss Mission Strategies

    Mission 7 - Homeland
All advantages that you once held as the Protoss now mean nothing as you are pitted against the Conclave. Branded a traitor you must defeat the Protoss before you can defeat the Zerg. When the mission starts you will find Tassadar, Zeratul and the Dark Templar surrounded by Protoss, you will have four Zealots as well. Select the Templar, Zeratul and Tassadar and retreat them to your base, leave the Zealots to divert the fire of the Conclave troops.

Warp in 15 more Probes and harvest the resources, now warp in ten more Dragoons and begin upgrading. Warp in more Photon Cannons for the entrance to your base, have two sets of three, now move your Dragoons behind the Photon Cannon as backup. Build all the advanced buildings as soon as you can and get ready to make a concerted effort for the minerals situated just outside your base. You are going to need at least five Scouts as one of the main forms of attack will be by Reaver, the Scouts can take care of these before they become dangerous. Keep your Observer with the Scouts to reveal and cloaked troops.

Warp in 12 Zealots and begin upgrading at every conceivable building, although not too fast or you will bankrupt yourself. Now take your 12 Zealots and attack the Dragoons that are opposite your base entrance. The big problem with the beginning of this game is the differences are both technology and numbers. The Conclave has more troops than you and they have a higher degree of technology available. Just holding off the Conclave for long enough to set up a second base at the other minerals is going to be hard enough. Keep Tassadar near your entrance, if any Conclave troops get too close pull back your troops and let the Conclave attack your Photon Cannons. Whilst they are otherwise engaged hit them with Tassadar's Psychic Storm. Keep producing troops otherwise you are going to end up getting worn down very quickly. The only advantages you have to start with are the Dark Templar, use them sparingly and only after you have scouted an area with your Observer. If they become decloaked the Dark Templar are very vulnerable. Once you can build yourself two Reavers do so and place them outside your base to offer cover. Keep patrolling with your Scouts, be careful of the Arbiter as they will cast a stasis filed temporarily knocking your affected troops out of the fight.

Once you feel that you have a toehold move a Probe along to here:

Once here set up as shown and start to churn out Dragoons. When the assaults stop and you find yourself with breathing space then it is time to go on the offensive. To do this you are going to need 12 Dragoons, 12 Zealots, six Reavers and four Templar. With this force attack this base:

Try to inflict as much damage using your Reavers and Templar as you can. Once your Templar begin to look a bit useless merge them into Archon. If you find this force inadequate to deal with the base then simply bring down the rest of your Dragoons, keeping your Gateways churning them out.

Once the base has been destroyed bring down a Probe and Warp in a Nexus. Now start to mine the minerals there. Reinforce this base so that it has about ten Dragoons in it and then warp in a Gateway and start to warp in Zealots and Dragoons, about eight of each. These are there solely to protect the probes. Now warp in four more Reavers and bring your running number of Scouts up to six. Your next point of attack will be the top right base. At your top right base there is a river, follow the river along and you will find a bridge. The bridge is very well defended so don't try to cross it. Bring your Reavers up to destroy the defences and have about 20 Dragoons ready to attack along with four Templar. The Templar's Psychic Storm is a very powerful weapon and should be used wherever possible.

Once you have wreaked enough havoc within this base Tassadar will surrender himself to the Conclave and you will be victorious.
