Terran Mission Strategies

Mission 1 - Wasteland
This first mission is very easy - you simply have to find Jim Raynor, build a barracks and construct ten Marines. Jim Raynor is to be found almost exactly in the centre of the map. Select all your troops and then move to the bridge. Cross the bridge and move downward - the funnel shape of the canyon walls will steer you to Raynor. When you have found Raynor a new mission objective will appear: Raynor must survive.

Select all your Marines and move them down to the head of the giant skeleton just below Raynor, then leave them here and wait. Three Zerglings will hurl themselves toward you, but your Marines should be able to take care of them swiftly, especially with Raynor as backup.

Now select your SCVs and send them to harvest the crystals next to your base. There are no more Zerglings nearby so they should proceed unimpeded. Once your SCVs are happily harvesting you can just sit tight and let the crystals accumulate. When you have enough build the barracks and supply station and then just churn out the necessary Marines. Once your have a barracks the Marine counter will start, you shouldn't have lost any Marines at this point so the counter will say five, meaning you only have to train 5 Marines and the first level is yours.
