StarcraftTerran Mission StrategiesMission 3 - Desperate Alliance You will see that you have been given a very defensible position so make use of it. Place four Marines in each of your bunkers, then send an SCV to repair the bunker on the right and the Vulture next to it. Send the rest of your SCVs to mine the crystals and as soon as you can build another five SCVs. Move your remaining four Marines onto the roof of the right hand building, there should be another Marine up there already, do this quickly as there will be a small rush of Zerglings approaching from that direction fairly early on. With your fifth SCV that you've built, build a refinery and start to mine the vespene gas. Once this is built you should have enough money for another four SCVs, build them and set two of them to mining the minerals, one to collecting vespene gas and with the fourth one build two more supply depots alongside your others. Once you have built the first supply depot build another four SCVs and set two of them mining minerals and two collecting vespene gas. Whilst this is going on there will be another small rush of Zerg along the right in the same place as the first Zergling rush. Your Marines should be able to handle this but move your spare Vulture up from beside your supply depots. As soon as you can afford it upgrade your Marine's guns at the academy to increase their range, this will give your bunkers that extra vital range when dealing with the Zerg rushes. A couple of Hydralisk will make their way down to the left entrance to your base, you may lose a Marine when they do as they will have greater range than you but don't worry, your bunker will deal with them easily. A Mutalisk will also attack but this time your missile turret will deal with it. Train ten more Marines, send five to the left entrance to your base and five to the right, you will need to get your SCVs up there to build a couple of more bunkers for your Marines. Whilst you are doing this there will be another rush of Zerglings down the right entrance, again your Marines will deal with these even more easily now that their weapons have the extra range. Now would also be a good time to begin upgrading your weapons and armour to level one, this will prolong the life expectancy of your troops and shorten that of the Zerg's. A small flight of Mutalisk will come in down the right of your base, these will probably kill of one of your Marines, don't worry this is what the extra Marine is for. Place four Marines in the bunker and send the other up onto the roof. At this point you will have one minute to wait for your rescue so sit back and mop up any rogue Zerg that you missed, then rejoice for victory is yours. |
