    Terran Mission Strategies

    Mission 5 - Revolution
    This is the first of the really difficult missions, up until now the missions have basically been training for what's to come. You have to find Arcturus' lieutenant, Kerrigan and help the Antigan Rebels defend themselves. Kerrigan and Raynor must survive.

    You will be up against a fully defended Confederate base in this mission so just to give you a taste of what you will be up against check this:

    Move you men down the screen, there will be a delightful young lady awaiting your troops, this is Kerrigan. Kerrigan is a ghost so she has a personal cloaking device making her your main unit for the initial stages of the mission. Move your men across the bridge, here you will find one Marine and three missile turrets, kill the Marine and take out the turrets, turrets can sense a cloaked unit so beware of them.

    Cloak Kerrigan and then move her up the next section of bridge, here you will find a vulture, use Kerrigan's lockdown on the vulture to stop it from moving and then move in your troops to destroy it. De-cloak Kerrigan and allow her power to build up a little again. Once she has 150 energy again cloak her and move up the map, you will see a Wraith, use lockdown on this again and then bring up your troops to destroy it. Once again rest Kerrigan until she has at least 50 energy.

    Using Raynor move around the top of the little lake to your right, there will be a bunker and a missile turret, get Raynor to attack the missile turret, he will receive a bit of a pounding from the bunker but you can fix him up later. Once the turret has been destroyed cloak Kerrigan and move her up past the Confederate defences (the Confederates are in the white) and into the rebel base, move her onto the beacon, form here she can kill the base commander and take over. The Antigan forces are now yours and they start shooting the Confederates, move the two SCVs you gain to repair any bunkers getting damaged in the battle and then move your original troops containing Raynor up. There will be one bunker the Antigans couldn't reach so you will have to use your troops to take care of it. Once it is no more retreat to the safety of the base and begin to consolidate your forces and defences.

    Within about a minute a small Confederate strike force will approach your base,

    As you can see the force isn't particularly impressive, your bunkers will take care of them very quickly, or you can cloak Kerrigan and send her out to have some fun.

    Build your force of SCVs up to about 16, this may seem excessive but you do need a lot of resources very quickly o this mission. Split them so you have about 12 mining minerals and 4 collecting gas.

    Make sure that all your bunkers all full, the bottom two are empty so if you use the four Marines standing idle near them and four of your original Marines you won't have to expend any unnecessary minerals just yet.

    Build four more supply depots, this should keep you ticking over for a short while, also build a control tower on your spaceport and a machine shop on one of your factories. Research everything at the control tower, this will give you cloaking Wraiths, a formidable unit. You will also need an engineering bay and academy so that you can upgrade your units, build this and then upgrade away.

    Once you have cloaking fields for your Wraiths you can move your one Wraith in a straight line downwards, making sure it's cloaked. You will find a large patch of crystals being harvested by Confederate scum. Using your cloaked Wraith destroy the three Wraiths around that area and then retreat until your cloaking field has recharged then return to harry any units that approach the crystals. Take care that your cloaking field energy does not run out.

    A good selection of supply depots will also be necessary, build between 10 and 12, this should be enough to see you through until a lot later.

    Now you are going to need an airforce to build another three Wraiths and keep them back for the moment by your Starport and allow them to charge up their energy for their cloaking fields. Once they are fully charged up move them down to where you found that large body of crystal over the water and harass and destroy everything you can whilst your cloaking field lasts, then retreat and build up your field again. Keep harrying, this way you can slow down the Confederate force build up giving you a critical advantage.

    Build yourself four Dropships and fill them with Marines, keep these out of the way until your Wraiths have cleared a path to the crystals, keep an SCV in with the Marines so that you can build bunkers when the time is right.

    The Confederates will make a few half-hearted attacks but don't fret too much, if you have your defences set up the way we've shown, then you will fend them off easily. Keep checking to see if any of your defences become damaged, always keep an SCV handy to effect repairs when they become necessary.

    After your initial Wraith attacks you should have more than enough money to build a couple more, this is a good idea as cloaked Wraiths are one of your strongest units and the more you have the quicker you can deal with units whilst cloaked.

    Once you have destroyed a large amount of the troops that move up to the crystal then leave your Wraiths to charge up to full power, prepare your Dropships and wait. Once your Wraiths are full charged up move them toward the crystals with the Dropships in tow. When you get close move your cloaked Wraiths to clear the immediate area, then put them on hold position just below the Confederate refinery. Now unload you Dropships, moving your troops to cover the SCVs as they build a couple of bunkers.

    Now move your troops forward a little so that you can build a command centre and fly your Barracks over so that you can churn out men for the final assault on the Confederate base.

    You can start to build four or five SCVs to harvest the minerals, and build about six Vultures for some fast assault troops, ship the Vultures over on the Dropships and get ready for the final assault. Build 20 Marines, use your Vultures for hit and run attacks to keep the enemy busy whilst you build and army. With a squad of 12 Marines move toward the enemy base, there will be two missile turrets, take these out first, this way you clear the way for your Wraiths to move in and cause some damage.

    Now with your cloaked Wraiths move in to the enemy base and over the supply depots. Your Wraiths will shoot any enemy approaching from this direction and they will also do considerable damage to the enemy buildings in the process.

    Now move two squads of 10-12 men forward, destroying everything as you go, try to keep your men fairly spread out as the Confederates have placed spider mines all around the area.

    Move one squad of men along the coast and take out the missile turrets, this will give you Wraiths more freedom of movement. Move your other squad along the bottom, destroying everything as you go. Once you have taken care of the missile turrets your Wraiths can take part in the battle once more. Moving your squads one along the coast, one along the bottom, proceed through the enemy base, there shouldn't be any real resistance. Now the victory should be yours.
