StarcraftZerg Mission StrategiesMission 8 - Eye for an Eye Morph about eight Zerglings at your bottom Hatchery and send them along with the Ultralisks, you will want to morph about six Hydralisks as well, start upgrading at the Hydralisk Den and then the Evolution Chamber as soon as possible. Morph three more Hydralisks at your top Hatchery and then move all your Hydralisks and Kerrigan down to the beacon, spawn another six Drones at the top Hatchery to mine crystals and vespene gas. Your objective is to get 12 Hydralisks at the top left beacon and 16 at the bottom right, don't worry too much about the top right beacon and Kerrigan can tip the balance greatly in your favour there. At your bottom Hive Cluster spawn a force of 12 Hydralisks, these are going to help you take the minerals and gas above your bottom most Hive Cluster. Simply take your 12 Hydralisks up the ramp just below the bottom right beacon and kill everything. Now move a Drone there and build a Hatchery, whilst the Hatchery is mutating spawn a further ten Hydralisks at your top left Hive Cluster and move them directly right to destroy the pitiful Protoss outpost there. Now you have two more source of resources, so harvest them, build Extractors and about ten extra Drones at each Hive Cluster and begin to harvest the resources. The bottom beacon will come under constant attack from Templar so be sure to spread your Hydralisks out, upgrade one of your Hatcheries to a Lair and build a Spire Queen's Nest, now upgrade to a Hive and then upgrade your Spire to a greater Spire. Build 16 Hydralisks and position them here, this will stop any attacks from the Protoss base dead in its tracks. You are going to have to keep replacing lost Hydralisk so you will find that you will be permanently spawning Hydralisks, don't worry too much about this just yet, there is nothing you can do about it. Once you have a Greater Spire spawn eight Mutalisks and evolve them into their Guardian aspects, now develop burrowing and move your Guardians near the beacon with a Hydralisk burrowed as a spotter a way ahead. In this manner you can destroy any Templar before they can get too close. As the game progresses you can put more Guardians here, they will make a powerful force for later. Now take all your Hydralisks you have spare and attack the base up from your bottom Hive Cluster. Taking all the Hydralisks at the top left beacon move downwards, you will come across another Protoss base, simply throw your Hydralisks at this base and you will defeat it (make sure you have at least 16 Hydralisks, more would be better). At both of these sites of Protoss destruction build a Hatchery and begin to harvest the resources. The final Protoss camp is the biggest and most dangerous, for this you are going to need to be a little devious. Upgrade your Overlords and flyers. Move your Guardians at the bottom to the very bottom of the screen and move them slowly along. Spawn about six Mutalisks to act as air cover for them and let them pound whatever they can see. Now load about 20 Hydralisks into Overlords and unload them on the plateau to the far left of your top base. Now move them down the screens destroying everything in your path. Spawn yourself and Ultralisk Cavern and morph about 12 Ultralisks, build a force of around 12 Ultralisks, 12 Guardians and 30 Hydralisks, place them at the bottom beacon and prepare to attack. Now move all of your Hydralisks into the Protoss base, they will take the brunt of the attack and hopefully the Templar will use all their magic on them. Now bring your Ultralisks into the Protoss base along with the Guardians, the Protoss will still be reeling from being attacked by 20+ Hydralisks. The Ultralisks Guardians should make short work of the remains of the Protoss camp, but just in case set the rally point of all your Hatcheries on the Protoss camp and build another 20 Hydralisks, these shouldn't be necessary but better safe than sorry. |
