Tomb Raider 3 is Lara Croft's newest adventure. The 1st adventure brings you to Egypt and to Atlantis to recover 3 pieces of the mystical 'The Scion' In her second adventure, she hops to China and Venice in search of the legendary ' Dagger of Xian (Dragon)' This time, she will be recovering 4 historical pieces of a 'Meteors' whose material appears to have the potential to multiply and alter genes which determine the make-up of living organisms.
Lara Croft will be visiting 5 main areas. She will start of at India where she will be recovering the 1st piece of the 'Meteor' where she hears from the local saying that it posses Great Powers.
This time, Edios have made the game play 'Non-linear' meaning players can chose where they wanna go but it will end at Antarctica ; hence having multiple paths to victory. This will increased replay-ability value of the game. The alternate paths are:
1) Nevada's Area 51 - Lara will dress in a short blue tank top with a bluish army pants.
2) South Pacific - Lara will dress in a thick thermal jacket.
3) London - Lara will dress in the sexy cat burglar suit.
What is sequel without any new weapons and moves! This time Lara has 3 new moves: ( for details, go to 'Her Moves' section )
1) Speed Dash (Sprint) - this moves is good for avoiding danger and to chase after enemies especially in India where the monkeys can steal your weapons and medi-paks. This move can be combined with the jump button for a Forward somersault roll.
2) Crawl - Now Lara can do a tunnel crawl!
3) Monkey swing - Lara can do a monkey bar swing instead of just the old sideways shimmy.
Some old weapons remains like her trusty double pistol, shotgun, twin Uzis, Harpoon and the modified grenade launcher whose grenades can bounce of the wall. All of the weapons are given more detail. (I like the new version of her shotgun.) Her new weapons are replacing the Tr 2 ones for:
1) Double Magnum to Automatic pistol to a 'Desert Eagle'
2) M16 to a H&K MP5, I think it is a Sniper gun or another version of the machine gun.
3) Rocket launcher. This new held over shoulder Rocket launcher should be the most devastating weapon on Tr 3. Nope this is not a Resident evil wannabe kinda version.
Yap, there will be new vehicles to ride on at every level!!! Lara will Parachute into India and South Pacific island. Also in India, Lara pilots a Quad bike and a Canoe in South Pacific. In Area 51, Lara pack into a Jeep and a Sand bike while in London, a underwater propulsion vehicle (Mini submarine) In Antarctica, Lara will "mush" a Snowplough and pilot a Motor boat.
