- Armies must be selected from within the period 500BC to 1000AD using lists the original book 1 & latest revised books 2, 3 & 4. Army lists must be submitted with set commands, including baggage.
- Command structures cannot be modified during the tournament.
- Players must nominate a specific year for their army.
Terrain will be preset by the umpire. Selection of table sides will use the DBM v1.3 rule (attacker must allocate die pips 1,2,3,4 to one side, 5,6 to the other and dice). All other deployment rules as per v2.1, including full weather and time of day.
Table sizes will be 6 by 4.

Saturday
Round 1 : Start 9.00am
Round 2 : Start 1.30pmSunday
Round 3 : Start 9.00am
Round 4 : Start 1.30pm"Whistle Stop" finishes will be used to end each round. The umpire will call "time" after 3.5 hours plus 0-15min from the start of the round. When "time" is called, all movement ceases and both players complete all combats for that bound.
Trophies to be awarded to First, Second & Third placings, plus an Encourgaement Award
Armies must contain historically accurate and correctly based figures. Inaccurate figure representations will be penalised.
The first round will have all armies divided into three 500 year periods and drawn randomly within each pool. Subsequent rounds will use the Swiss chess system. Players on equal scores will be paired against armies with the closest year (working top down). Standard DBM scoring will be used.
