TRIPLE TRIAD, THE CARD GAME

Collecting Cards
Collecting monster cards can be done in many different ways. You sometimes get a monster's card for destroying a monster. You can also card an enemy by using the card command. You can usually win monster cards from any card players. Here's a tip on collect cards fast. Go to the Queen of Cards in Balmamb. Try to pass on the rule [All] command. Just make sure you're able to beat anyone. Its risky; if you use five player cards, you don't want to lose them all.

Collecting boss cards isn't as easy as collecting monster cards, however there is a trick. Just constantly play Martine, the headmaster of Galbadia Garden (He's in FH after you end the 2nd disk. He's to the right of the mayor's house.) in cards. When the Queen of Cards reaches FH, also try to pass on the
[All] there. Martine has all the Level 7 Boss Cards. He also has some Level 6 Boss Cards. You should be able to win Level 6 from anyone.

Collecting GF cards is a challenging feat. You have to travel to many different locations. There's only one copy of every GF card. You may also need to get a certain card at a certain time. There are two levels of GF cards. They are Level 8 and 9.

Collecting Player Cards is the most difficult card collecting feat. The regular characters except Irvine can be found at anytime. Irvine has to be collected on the Queen of Cards Quest. The three dream characters are more difficult to collect. I believe that Laguna's card is the hardest to collect. For card levels 8 - 10, each card and how to get it is listed below.

PuPu
The PuPu card isn't the strongest card, but it also isn't the weakest card. However, the PuPu card is the rarest card in the game. In order to collect this card you must locate 4 UFO's that are carrying something. Then you must locate a UFO that wants to battle you. Finally you must locate the alien PuPu. Those three steps must be done in that order.

The Four UFO Locations
Cow: Winhill Bluffs. This UFO is located in an area around Winhill.

Moa Head Statue: Mandy Beach, south of Timber. There is a beach south of TImber.

Pyramid: Kashkabald Deset. On an island on the east side of the Centra ruins. Its the biggest desert on the Centra continent.

Strange Symbol: Trabia Heath Peninsula. A peninsula east of Trabia Garden.

Where to fight the UFO
This battle is located on a plateau north of the Chocobo Sanctuary. The Chocobo Sanctuary is on the Easternmost continent. Its surrounded by trees and is inaccessible by all means of transportation except a chocobo. However, you can get to the plateau by the Ragnorok. Once you arrive at the plateau walk around expecting battles. You should get into a fight with a UFO. The UFO has from 121 - 12,100 HP. You will recieve an Agies Armlet for beating it. It shouldn't be to hard to beat.

Finding PuPu
Once you beat the UFO, you can find the alien PuPu by searching the site where Balamb Garden used to be before it was able to fly. When you enter the battle with PuPu, give it 5 elixers. It only has 10 HP, so if you hit it, it will die. You will get an Accelerator, but you will not recieve the PuPu card.

CC Club
The Balamb Garden Card Club offers a challenge to the advanced Triad players.

How to find:
For any CC member to reveal himself, you must have one a lot of card games in Balamb garden. You need to make a rep for yourself as being a great card player. Then you can talk to the CC member Jack around the enterance of the garden. He's near the directory.

Locations and Rare Cards:
Jack - Near the directory, tends to enter from the bottom of the screen. He has no rare cards.

Club - Club is in the hallway near the enterance to the cafeteria. Club appears randomly. Has no rare cards.

Diamond - He's in the front of the directory in the front hallway. Diamond is the pair of female cadets. They have no rare cards.

Spade - On the second floor near the elevator. Spade has no rare cards.

Heart - Heart is on the bridge. Heart is actually Xu. She holds the Carbuncle Card.

Joker - He's the guy inside the training center. He has the Leviathan Card and can also upgrade your battle meter.

King - First speak with Nina on the bridge and then challenge Dr. Kadowaki to a game. Return to the dorm and take a nap. The king will appear when your resting. You can win the Gilgamesh card from King. Gilgamesh can be modified into ten Holy wars!!

When...
Try to complete the CC club side quest before disc four. You can challenge them at any time, but remember that you need good cards. You have to beat at least 15 people in the Garden at Triad.

Queen of Cards
The Queen of Cards Quest is a side quest that lets you create cards from old cards. To start this quest you have to either win or lose a level 8 cards from/to the queen in Balamb. Then she will give you a hint to her next destination. When she moves to Dollet, press [X Button] to talk to her. Ask her about "Your artist father". She will ask for a specific card. When you lose that card to her in a card game her father will create a new rare card that you will be able to win from someone else.

My Tips:
Make sure when you want to intentionally lose the card to her, you play with that card and four level one monster cards. That way, if she has the
[All] rule, you won't lose to many good cards.
You can still retrive the cards that you lost to her. When you lose a card it goes straight to her brothre in Dollet. He is the child living with the artist one screen down from the Pub. Any other cards you lose to her must be won back from her.

Where to Go:
When the card queen tells you a town, she will be in this exact spot in the town.

Galbadia {} The Galbadia Hotel in Deling City
FH {} On the train tracks in FH
Esthar {} The presidential palace
Trabia {} The hotel in Shumi Village
Centra {} The hotel in Winhill
Dollet {} The Pub
Balamb {} The front of Balamb station
Far Away {} Lunar Gate's Concourse Area.

When she is at a place she will have a certain percentage of going to another place.

Balamb [] Dolet (37.5%), Deling City (62.5%)

Deling City [] Balamb (12.5%), Dollet (12.5%), Winhill (12.5%), F.H. (62.5%)

Dollet [] Balamb (37.5%), Deling City (62.5%)

Shumi Village [] Balamb (25%), Dollet (50%), Lunar Gate (25%)

Winhill [] Deling City (37.5%), Dollet (37.5%), F.H. (25%)

F.H. [] Dollet (12.5%), Winhill (25%), F.H. (12.5%), Lunar Gate (50%)

Esthar [] Dollet (12.5%), Shumi Village (25%), F.H. (12.5%), Lunar Gate (50%)

Lunar Gate [] Random Area (any of the eight)

Edea: Simply play Edea in a game of cards. You must play her when she's at her house.

Seifer: You can achieve from headmaster Cid at any time.

Squall: You can win from Laguna whenever Squall gets a chance to speak to him.

About Spreading Rules
My tip about rules is to let each area have its on set of rules. To keep it that way, when someone says "You seem to know rules unfamiliar to the region..." tell them no. Keep saying no until they just say, "Wanna play cards." This is a good idea if you played cards in an area that had random.

Card Ability
You can receive the card ability by having Quezacotl learn it. To card an enemy you must wait until it has a low HP. Then try carding it. If you try carding it when it has a high HP, you will miss.

Card Mod
MY CARD ARE TO PRECIOUS TO LOSE! I'M NOT CHANGING IT INTO AN ITEM!!!
I said the same thing until I met up with Omega Weapon and Ultimecia. You can get 10 Holy Wars from the Gilgamesh Card. Holy Wars let you stay invincible for a short period of time. This comes in handy against Apocolypse.
You can learn Card Mod after you learn Card. Quezacotl knows it. I made a list of what you can get for every card.

How to Play
Basic Rule
Which ever player places a card that has a higher number on the ajacent side has that card turn his color. This means that if your opponent places a card with a 1 on the right side, and you place a card on the right side of that which has a 2 on the left, the opponents card turns your color.
Opponent You
3 4
2 1 <---- 2 3
4 A

You beat the opponets card.

Other In-Game Rules
SAME
The same rule means that if your card has the same number on two ajacent sides, you flip both cards.

6
2 4
A
3 A
6 4 <----- If you place this card 4 3
5 6
You flip both cards.

Same - Plus
Same plus includes the
[Same] rule but adds PLUS to it. This means that if you have a card that has two adjacent sides that add up to the same number, you flip both cards.

5 A
6 4 <-------------- If you place this card: 6 4
A 4
6 You flip both cards.
A 7 6 + 4 = 10 4 + 6 = 10
3 This will also work with 5 + 5 = 10 and 7 + 3 = 10

Combo
[Same] and [Same-Plus] are hard to get by them self, but if you add a combo in it, you will destroy your opponent. If you get either SAME or SAME-PLUS, you can also get a combo. If you flip a card using these rules, and one of the flipped cards has a number higher than an adjacent side, it will say "Combo" and that card is also flipped.

5 A
6 4 <---- When you place 6 4
A 4
5 6
4 6 3 7 You flip both cards and create a combo.
5 A
^^^
This card is also flipped, because the A is higher than the 5.

Wall
Wall is another branch of the
[Same] rule. This rule states that all the walls in the game board has an A value. You can create a SAME or SAME-Plus using the wall.

Elemental
This rule places element symbols in random spots on the game board. If you place a card on that spot with the same element symbol, all the sides of that card get a plus one. If you place a card with a different element symbol or no element symbol at all, that card will get a minus one. This is what hurts those powerful player cards. They have no elements.

Sudden Death
This means that you will play over and over until someone wins. Also, each player exchanges one of the card they are playing with with one of the opponent's cards.

Out of Game Rules
Random
The computer will pick five random cards from each player's deck. This rule with kill you if your going up against a powerful opponent.

The Trading Rules
[One] The winner gets to choose one card. This is the most common trading rule.
[All] The winner takes all five cards that the loser is using.
[Diff] The winner takes as many cards as the difference he won by.
[Direct] Each player takes whatever cards that is their color. If they flip one of your cards, they will get that card.

Open
This rule means you will be able to see your opponents cards. This also means that your opponent will be able to see your cards. This gives you both an advantage.

My Strategy
If you go first, place a card in one of the lower corners. The opponent will usually place a card in the top left hand corner. Now place a card in the other lower corner. Your opponent will no usually place a card in the upper middle. Now place a more powerful card to flip the first card they placed. They will not be able to get that card back. They will now place a card on the top right. Place a card either in the middle or the middle right. You want to beat another one of their top cards. Now they will place a card in the spot you could've placed your card in. Perferabley go for the right first so they will place it in the middle. Now place your card in the bottom middle to beat their card. You will win 8 - 2. This usually works. If you go second, just skip one of the placing on the bottom steps.
This will not work with advanced players.
