Below we answer some of the most frequently-asked questions.
Moon Over Thelgrim Creatures
Q. When the Alchemist Apprentice uses its Special Ability to place a discarded Level I Spell back in your Spellbook, does it have to do so immediately after that Spell is cast?
A. Yes. You may only Activate the Alchemist Apprentice to use its Special Ability if you used one of your two other Activations this turn (during the Activation Segment) to Activate a Spellcaster within 6" to cast the Spell.
Q. Can the Dwarven Blacksmith give itself +3 bonus to either AT, D, or T?
A. Yes, the Dwarven Blacksmith can give itself bonuses. (Note that this is an updated answer.)
Q. Can the Iron Golem be the target of a Spell?
A. No, the Iron Golem cannot be the target of a Spell. However, the Golem (and disks within 6" of it) may be affected by spells that do not target them specifically. For example, they may be affected normally by the Sap and Fireball Spells. (Note that this is an updated answer.)
Q. Is Varik Longbeard immune to Missiles and Spells?
A. Yes. He, and all Dwarf Disks within 6" of him, may ignore damage from Missile and the effects of all Spells.
Q. When the Familiar provides a free Level I Spell, does it have to be cast by the Spellcaster within 6"?
A. Yes. If you Activate the Familiar to give you a free Spell, you must use one of your other two Activations during this turn to cast the Spell with the Spellcaster within 6" or else the Spell is discarded.
Q. Does Thalos, Centaur Lord receive a bonus of +1 AT, D and T?
A. No.
Q. Does the Standard Bearer receive a bonus of +1 AT, D and T?
A. No.
Q. The Crimson Eagle of Anamont can only be pinned by Flying Disks. What happens if a non-Flying Disk overlaps it?
A. The Eagle may Activate normally, as if it were not pinned.
Q. If a Sisters of Q'aro Fenn Disk is within 6" of more than one other Sisters Disk, does it receive multiple bonuses of +2 AT and T?
A. No. The Sisters receive the bonus if one or more other Sisters are within 6". For example, if three Sisters are within 6" of each other, they still only receive +2 AT and T - not +4.
Q. The Ghost does not pin other Disks. What happens if it overlaps another Disk?
A. The Disk that is overlapped by the Ghost may Activate as if it were not pinned.
Q. Can Sasquatch be placed on a Terrain Disk so that it is pinning another Creature Disk?
A. Yes, Sasquatch can be placed in such a way that it is both overlapping a Terrain Disk and another Creature Disk (similar to an Ambush). It cannot be placed in such a way that it is beneath another Creature Disk.
Q. The Siege Catapult cannot enter a Terrain. Can it start a scenario in a Terrain?
A. Unless the scenario specifically calls for it, the staging area (i.e., where the Catapult would be starting a scenario) is not considered a Terrain. If the scenario calls for the staging area to be a Terrain, then that scenario must determine the effects of Terrain upon disks coming into play. Also, the Catapult cannot be moved into a Terrain by any other Disks.
Q. If the Elven Sniper uses its Special Ability to fire three Arrows during the Activation Segment and strikes its target, when is the damage applied?
A. The damage is applied immediately, and carries over into the Missile and Battle Segments (not unlike the Fireball Spell). Note that the Elven Sniper does not have the Missile skill and is therefore not affected by Spells or Disk abilities that affect Archers.
Q. Kyalia Riwatani's Special Ability is described as "per the Control Spell." Does this mean that it can be negated by the Surge Spell?
A. No. Her Special Ability is not a Spell and is not affected by Surge.
Moon Over Thelgrim Game Play
Q. Are the Fireball and Reign of Steel Spells treated like Missiles for purposes of Barriers and line of sight?
A. No. While Spells may use Missile Counters to enact their effects, they are not Missiles. Therefore, they may not be affected by rules, Disk abilities, or other Spells that affect Missiles.
Q. When a Disk refers to a "Fireball," does it mean the Spell, the Missile, or both?
A. If the Disk does not specify Spell or Missile, it means both.

A. The Dragonling's Movement is still 9.
Q. Zolo Hexx cannot be pinned by Good Disks. Does this mean that Good Disks cannot move on top of Zolo Hexx?

Creatures
Q. Zok Slavemaster - If a disk with a Wound Counter is enslaved, does it Wound Counter remain?
A. Yes. When Zok defeats a disk in combat, he does not kill it (or inflict a Wound) but instead enslaves it.
Q. Zok Slavemaster - When one of Zok's slaves is killed in a scenario in which points' worth of kills are counted, who gets the points for killing the slave?
A. No one gets the points, as the slave is no longer really a part of anyone's army.
Q. High Lord Tariannor - Is High Lord Tariannor unique?
A. Yes.
Q. Dark Sucker - If the Dark Sucker is killed, does its target's Defense remain at zero?
A. No. The target's Defense returns to normal as soon as the Dark Sucker is no longer touching it.
Q. Shura Assassin - If the Shura Assassin is attacking another disk, can it take damage from other disks, missiles and spells?
A. Yes. During the Combat Segment, the Shura Assassin cannot take damage from the target disk it is attacking. Other disks which attack the Assassin during the Combat Segment can damage it. During the other segments, the Assassin takes damage as normal.
Q. Mentalist - Can the Mentalist flip a disk that is pinned?
A. No. The Mentalist can only move unpinned disks.
Q. Elven Warder - Can the Elven Warder flip a disk that is pinned?
A. No. The Elven Warder can only move unpinned disks.
Q. Crawling Limbs - Can they move onto another disk?
A. No, they cannot use their Activation to move onto another disk. They may, however, be otherwise moved into a disk through outside forces, like spells and Special Abilities.
Q. Banada Voodoo Master - Is the Banada Voodoo Master supposed to be unique?
A. Yes he is.
Q. Loki Dreamweaver - What is the cost for Loki Dreamweaver?
A. Loki's cost is 11.
Q. Are the Ballisters and Drallus Worm supposed to be part of the Dragon army?
A. Yes, they are Dragons.
Q. Tyrnask Rex - What do you mean, "cannot be in an army with evil dragons?"
A. Disks with red borders (signifying evil alignment) and the label "Dragon" (signifying that they are dragons) are evil dragons. If you have any of these in your army, you may not have Tyrnask Rex in your army.
Fairy Swarm: The text of Fairy Swarm should read: "Fairy Swarm can only take one wound per game round. Can never be healed."
Spells
Q. What is the cost of the Convert spell? The spellbook lists it as 8 points, while the disk has it at 10.
A. The disk is correct: 10 points.
Q. What is the cost of the Displacement spell? The spellbook lists it as 10 points, while the disk has it at 7.
A. The disk is correct: 7 points.
Q. Can the Heal spell be used to remove damage from a disk capable of taking only one Wound?
A. No.
Q. Is the distance on the Level III Teleport spell really just 1 inch?
A. No. It is supposed to be 12 inches.
Q. In regards to spells that require a target to be within range of the spellcaster, can the spellcaster target itself?
A. Yes, as long as the spell does not require the target to be unactivated or touched by the spellcaster.
Q. Can a disk with the Hold Spell cast on it be moved by outside means (i.e., Warder, Teleport, Mentalist, etc.)?
A. Yes. The Hold spell prevents the disk from using its Activation for movement.
Q. Can a spellcaster use the Displacement spell to displace itself?
A. Yes.
Q. When two disks trade places using the Displacement spell, are their positions determined by their centers or edges?
A. Their positions are determined by their centers.
Game Play
Q. In some scenarios (such as Doom Hill), players are required to kill a certain number of points' worth of opponents' disks in order to win. If the dead disks are resurrected or otherwise brought back into play after being killed, do they still count towards that player's total points?
A. Yes.
Q. If a disk is killed by disks from more than one opponent, which opponent gets credit for the kill?
A. The player whose disk dealt the killing blow receives credit for the kill. If disks from multiple players dealt the killing blow, the players should decide how to split the points for the kill.
Q. Can I pre-measure?
A. Players may not pre-measure missile range or Disk movement. (All missile targets must be nominated before range is measured.) However, Spell ranges and the ranges of Disk skills and Special Abilities may be pre-measured.
Q. Can a pinned disk fire missiles?
A. No. A pinned disk cannot be activated, which means that it cannot move, fire missiles, use a Special Ability or cast a spell.
Q. An archer shoots at a legal target at a range of 12". If some of the arrows roll and land on targets more than 12" away, do these count as hits?
A. Yes. If you feel that this promotes cheating (flipping with the intention of hitting targets beyond 12"), we recommend that the arrows are dropped via a tube (such as a paper towel or toilet-paper roll). Another possibility is to always make sure that the disk is "tipped" in the direction of the disk shooting the arrows. (i.e., no side-tipping or tipping away from you).
Q. When dragging the fireball, do you drag it flat, or with only the trailing edge touching?
A. Flat. The entire flat area of the fireball is the "touch" zone.
Q. When a Beastrider hits a Fairy Swarm, is the Fairy Swarm destroyed and removed from the game, or does it simply take a wound counter?
A. The Fairy Swarm would be removed from the game due to the Beastrider's 'destroy' ability. This even overrides the Fairy Swarm ability to take only one wound.
Q. If a disk with the First Blow skill attacks a disk with 2 wounds, does the defending disk get to apply damage against the attacker?
A. Yes, If the defender is still alive after applying the damage from the attacker with First Blow, it gets to apply damage to the attacker.
Q. One of Player A's Disks is overlapping a Disk of Player B. A missile lands so that it is touching both of them. Is its damage applied to both Disks?
A. No. By the same principle as above, the missile's damage is only applied to the top Disk it is touching. If, however, a missile is touching two Disks in the same layer (i.e., neither is overlapping the other), then the missile's damage is applied to both Disks.
Q. Some Disks says that they cannot attack, or cannot be attacked by, certain other Disks. In these circumstances, what is meant by "attack"?
A. "Attack" is defined as Activating to move onto another Disk. For example, the Crawling Limbs may never Activate to move onto a nearby Orc. It can, however, be moved onto the Orc Disk via spells, skills and Special Abilities.
Errata
Levitator: The text of the Levitator now reads: "SA: A to make any Disk within 12" Flying for the remainder of this Round."
Stalwarts: Stalwarts are Champions, not Neutral.
Multiple Wounds: A Disk with multiple Wounds may receive more than one Wound per segment. For example, a creature with a Toughness of 3 and one Wounds would be killed if attacked by another creature with an Attack of 6. Likewise, the same Disk would be destroyed if it received 5 damage from a spell during the Activation Segment (causing one Wound and 2 damage), then another 2 damage from an arrow during the Missile Segment. (This is different from previous rulings, which stated that multiple-Wound Disks could only receive one Wound during each segment.)
Activation Order: The rules for Order of Activation should read: "The player who begins activating is the first player. The first player activates three of his units, followed by the player to his left, who activates three of his units, etc. Thus the players, in clockwise order, activate three units until all players have activated three units. Starting again with the first player, players continue to activate three units apiece until all players have no more units that they can, or wish to, activate. At the beginning of the next activation segment in the next turn, the player to the left of the current first player becomes the newfirst player."
